This is genuine and not "ITK" bollocks. My mothers best friend and her husband are selling their house in Rickleton. The place is an absolute mansion ( their previous house at Neville cross had Kenwyne Jones one way and Steed the next) They've not had much luck finding a buyer so was advised to contact Safc to see if anyone at the club was interested in buying it.

Well they had a viewing during the week, a wee chap called Martin. He looked around and thought it was fantastic but in the end didnt want to take the house. He said it was too big and he wasn't interested in buying a house in the area and was just looking to rent.

Well, I know it could be nowt but does anyone think that his desire not to buy could indicate he doesn't plan on sticking around? Or is it just the way with footballers and managers that the average length of time at a club is 2-3 years so what's the point in buying?

Most players rent. (Easy to buy hard to sell)They have no ties with the NE and move on when sold/leave the club. Steve harper has a few houses in Darras hall and rents them all out to footballers.

He wouldnt have viewed it unless he had an interest in buying it.

Probably an excuss because he did not actually like it but was being polite. I know a lot of footballers rent their own houses but own property in places like London which they rent out. They then don't have the cash flow problem of waiting to sell a house worth millions that they have money tied up in.

Agree with Vegas, can't see any reason why he would have wasted his own time to view the house if he had no intention of buying.

By the way, if we carry on the way we have for the last 6 month then I don't particularly want him here for 2-3 years.

Sounds to me he didn't really like the house. A bit of non issue though because you'd be mad to overcommit financially dependant on your job in football. things are so fluid and change so quickly its not worth it. Properties can become like albatrosses round your neck. Look at Shay Given with us, spent a fortune building that Celtic Manor, getting it exactly how he wanted and then got sold! He has struggled to shift it since.

Nosworthy's pad on the seafront has been up for sale for well over a year, he never even lived in it either and the price has dropped over 100k since going on the market.
