Another example of the great spirit in the City squad.

Definitely going to watch Austria vs Switzerland instead of England now! I'm genuinely looking forward to when a more effective Inler starts playing for us, I hope he's ok at not getting in the team right now because I still feel he could be a really good asset to our team.

He's a class act - this will be a long season and he will get opportuniies - he will need to take them - but he is undoubtdly an excellent footballer ...

Inler is a class player, I was delighted when we signed him as I have always been impressed with him whenever I have seen him play for Switzerland or Napoli

The thing that puzzles me at the minute is when we holding on towards the end of games rather then bringing on Inler for his experience Ranieri is bringing on Andy King

And all Fuchs had to be was better then Konchesky so the bar wasn't very high for him

Its hard to say, but Andy King has actually made more of an impact off the bench than Inler has.

The player that used to go missing gets more involved, Kings not going to give you a through ball for the strikers or look to create a chance as most of his passes wil be backwards or square, but thats what you need to see a game out.

My worry would be Inler coming on and trying too hard to impress when we just need to run the clock down.

I think Inler is experienced enough for him to know to see the game out. You can't always King has made more of an impact so Inler never gets a chance or he will never play for us again. At the minute the form of Kante and Drinkwater will be keeping everyone else out of the team and with Matty James getting closer to a return we are well covered in midfield after last season Cambiasso aside no one really made a claim the start every week

I don't think we would have got Kante in if we'd kept Cambiasso, so maybe him leaving was a blessing in disguise.

I don't think Cambiasso would have fitted into this season style aswell as Kante or Drinkwater.

Cambiasso used his experience and slowed our play down a lot last season while the other 2 set the pace

... I think it is because King is pretty good in the air and the opposition last resort tends to be aerial ..

Cambiasso, realistically, was always a short term fix ... he might have stayed one more season and he would certainly have showed plenty of classy touches - a pairing of him and Kante is mouthwatering ... but Drinky has stepped up to the plate and is thoroughly deserving of the plaudits he is now getting ... he might well have left if he was getting nowhere close to the first team ... sometimes things work out for the best and I think they have here.

Drinkwater has clearly learned from Cambiasso's performances (although maybe not in the shooting aspect! I think he could add goals to his game like Cambiasso did, he scored plenty in our promotion season so the ability is clearly there), but would have been incredible to see the master alongside Kante. If Danny keeps progressing though then the apprentice will still do nicely.
