Coquet Valley!
Now this is just the news according to the Injury Premier League, it is bu no means bolted on, but here is what they say.

D Guthrie Hamstring Injury no return date
S Ameobi Fractured Cheekbone 19th Mar 11
D Gosling Knee Injury 5th Mar 11
A Smith Ankle/Foot Injury Aug 11
S Ireland Knee Injury 5th Mar 11
H Ben Arfa Broken Leg 5th Mar 11

That would mean that Gosling, Ireland and Ben Arfa are, at least, back in training in a couple of days.
Benny being at the match on Sat could lend some truth to this, and we have heard about Ireland being likely to play on Sat if Barton is still out (he doesn't make the list...).

Here's hoping that in a couple of weeks we can look forward to this (maybe):

Harper
Simmo - Colo - Tayls - Jose
Barton - Tiote - Nolan
Ben Arfa - Shola - Ireland

Well Pardew has said Ben Arfa won't be back until April/May. If that's the case, he probably won't play for the rest of the season and just get fit for pre-season.

He's back in toon now. But isn't expected to be playing until April/May. We might get a couple of games out of him, but if it's in the slightest a risk I'd rather not (i mean, we are practically safe, would be a pointless risk).

Yeah I meant back as in back playing lol. If we're struggling to stay up then it would be good to get him back asap, but I'm sure we'll be well clear of the bottom so there's no point in risking him for the last few games...as much as I can't wait to see him back playing.

I like that, but with Best in for Shola.

Possibly a 4-1-2-3 formation going there, or 4-2-1-3 (with Barton next to Tiote) depending on opponents, score etc.

4-2-3-1 is what i use on Fifa, Works a charm! *Need to be careful we dont fall into formation porn here...*

Harps
Simmo - Tayls - Colo - Jose
Barton - Tiote
Ben Arfa - Nolan - Ireland
Shola/Best

Main reason i put Shola was so we have a target man, obviously keep playing as we are, but if were stuck we have an option to just lump it instead of trying to hard to play out and mess up (as we have done).

4231 is the knig of formations, i'd go for:

Harps
Simmo - Tayls - Colo - Jose
Barton - Tiote
Ben Arfa - Nolan - Ireland
