NEIL WARNOCK INJURY UPDATE 09/03/18

.V. BIRMINGHAM CITY

Joe Ralls out
Callum Paterson out?
Sean Morrison out

NEIL WARNOCK: "JOE RALLS"

"Joe Ralls has got a problem with his knee. We don’t know how long he’ll be out. He won’t be available in the near future. There’s two tough away games and then an international break."

"But most of them, Gunnarsson included, could be available after that. We could have a proper squad for the run-in of eight or nine."

NEIL WARNOCK:CALLUM PATERSON

"He had a scan an there’s nothing untoward there but obviously it was that knee that he had the operation on, but it’s nothing to do with that injury it’s the other side. When you look at it on the video, it’s an innocuous challenge."

"The lad landed on him and just pushed his knee inwards, so it’s bound to be a bit sore. But you know what Paterson’s like it will take a bit to get him going."

NEIL WARNOCK: SEAN MORRISON

"Sean Morrison is training really hard. We’re going to involve him and put some sort of a game on if we can to test him. I don’t want to risk him if it’s going to put him out for another five weeks. I’d rather he miss another game and then be available for Brentford and Derby next week."

"That’s more important A lot depends on other people being fit. Connolly’s got a knock as well. Whoever’s fittest of the injured lads will be playing."

The last sentence is the worrying bit. Suggests we don't have 11 fit players. Not in the right positions anyway.

If we get to the international break in 2nd and get these lads back fit it's all to play for.

It’d be nice if other teams particularly Fulham announced Sessignon Mitrovic and Cairney are out for a while!

In a perverse sort of way, I love it when Warnocks talks about our injury problems.

We've got them and that's it, but the more Warnock harps on about it. the more it pressurise the other managers and sides to capitalise on it.

I know I'm cynical but it also provides a ready made excuse if we don't get the results we need. He's managing down expectations. I don't blame him as it reduces some of the pressure on the players.

He's no fool, been there, done that, got the T shirt.

Playing games with Monk by the look of it.

Just need to win this game not like the last time they changed manager.
Win on saturday and we'll be closer to Wolves, further from villa or both.

The Gunnar injury is the most annoying ......Ramsay came back quicker than him and Rambo had his leg amputated.

just how injured is he ?

and to answer my own question........NOT

The Icelandic captain has been out since the end of November through injury and it has been revealed that he will potentially miss another three months.
Neil Warnock this morning confirmed Gunnarsson has had surgery to put right an ankle injury that has kept him out for the last month.
Speaking ahead of the Bluebirds’ trip to Bolton Wanderers, Neil Warnock revealed: “As we speak Gunnarsson is having an operation in London and he’ll
be out 4-6 weeks.(from mid December)
“Danny Ward we’ve found out will be three months. Gunnarsson has had some floating bone around his ankle and it’s better for everyone that he has it done because he’ll have the World Cup on his mind as well.”
