Scotland boss Steve Clarke has admitted he is prepared to invoke a FIFA rule which would prevent players flagged as injured for international duty from featuring for their clubs for a further five days after the international window.

International managers have the ability to utilise the FIFA rule if players called up to their squad withdraw through injury, although it is rare to see it activated due to the conflict it can cause with clubs.

Andy Robertson withdrew from the latest Scotland squad through injury but the rule will not be enforced, meaning he can feature against Crystal Palace this weekend if he is passed fit.

Should make it work ther other way too; pull out of a domestic game due to injury, manager can prevent them from player for ther national side.

He's left - footed - can he play in Robbo's position?

I was being facetious. The idea of Shaqs playing left back worries me nearly as much as Moreno did.

Fabinho does not require surgery, but the mooted rehabilitation period would also make Fabinho doubtful for the away trip to Tottenham on January 11, which is followed by the hosting of Manchester United the following weekend, writes @MelissaReddy_

It's no problem - we can play some of those signings we made in the summer with the CL money. :bandit:

This is where we need Ox and Keita to step up in midfield. Both need to be fit and available.

I am not worried at all. We have a quality team with individuals who can fill in until he gets back. When Gomez went down, some people lost their marbles. Matip came and never looked back. Alisson, no problem Adrian filled in comfortably. Matip gets injured Lovren comes in and does a stellar job.

The squad has fringe players itching for their opportunity to play. I am sure Keita, Lallana and Ox will take some of the chances afforded to them to build form and make it hard for Fabinho to walk right back in. The player I am looking at is Keita as he is the one who has big question marks over his long term fitness and form. If he was to achieve anything to what he did in Germany, we should be in for a treat.

    December:
    Home Brighton
    Home Everton
    Away Bournemouth
    Away Salzburg
    Home Watford
    League cup bullshit
    Club world club bullshit
    Away Leicester
    Home Wolves

    January:
    Home Sheffield Utd
    Away Tottenham
    Home Man Utd
    Away Wolves

Without Fabinho I think we could quite find our league lead collapse and end in Europa

When Gomez went out last season we at least had cover for him
When Alisson went out this season we at least had cover for him
We don't have cover for defensive mid and Klopp's experiment with Lallana there is a ****ing nightmare that will come to fruition
