I'm guessing this has been discussed somewhere but i don't have the time and really can't be bothered to look back through old threads. Is anyone aware of the latest injury news especially concerning Dejan but also Gaston and big Vic.

Wanyama's back in training and should be available for the next game, we're likely to hear about the other two today, but signs are not good...

The first two are unconfirmed, but is believed that both have ankle ligament damage with Gaston's being the more serious. Big Vic is back in full training with the squad and could return against Yeovil on Saturday.

Lovren himself has said that he will be back very soon, Gaston on the other hand said "thanks for wishes at this very difficult time" which to me is not good news !

When you see the picture of what happened to him I am guessing 8-10 weeks. Lovren, maybe 2/3 weeks.

We can deal with Yeovil without Lovren but Arsenal is scary. Let's hope its only two weeks.

Don't even mind the Arsenal game as we are unlikely to get points, but real shame when we have a tranche of winnable games coming up. Nine points is it that we need :)...may be less because of number of teams still involved in relegation battle.

Think Lovren was just trying to be positive, he also tweeted "<wah> sh*t" last night, which I would consider bad news!

And that went well didn't it? :)

Not even Lovren could have prevented Boruc's moment of madness!

I don't really think that missing Lovren was the reason it didn't go well at Arsenal. One shirt pull and three overplayed Cruyff turns undid us that day. A good performance.

Being a bit harsh and severe Ramires, not the end of the world; Yoshida partnering Fonte with the ARSENAL lads flicking the ball around them.
Thats gonna be chaos. Hooivelt coming on to kick one in our net too, is alredy giving me nightmares !!!

Ever the optimist, I was trying to recall who was CB for the home game last January v Arsenal. Didn't we give them a lot of problems and but for the deft right knee of Guly and a dodgy foul by Ramirez, we'd have won that one?

Tbf to Artur, he took the whole responsibility for that and didn't moan but... Saints normally pass the ball out of defence, even as far back as the keeper, rather than boot it. Artur normally has an option to pass and that didn't appear. Because Lovren wasn't playing there wasn't the defender retreating to receive a pass. Hooiveld had switched off, Fonte was available, but was stuck too close to the right touchline and was being closed down, so Artur nowhere to go once Giroud had closed down the option of booting the ball into touch. It all happened rather quickly, and the abortive Cruyff Turns were just attempts at gaining enough time to assess any options.

The critical point is, if Hooiveld had gone wide and deep to receive a pass, like he was supposed to, Artur almost certainly wouldn't have something to be embarrassed about from that game.

Lovren is fond of twitter...if he wasn't as bad as people are surmising, he would have contradicted the rumours by now :(

He did say his leg was fine, a few hours after the match, and that he would soon be on the pitch again. Unless he has the makings of a diplomat, and not a typical player, I can't see any reason why he should make light of the injury. Most of the time a player will say something like, I'm gutted... it's the end of my world... blah, blah...

Lovren would probably say he was okay if his leg wasn't hanging off, but he could have just had the results of scans which they don't get until the swelling goes down. Or he could just be asleep.
