We know about the longer term injury problem young Mesca faces but today Jol has confirmed that Diarra could be out for a considerable time as well - our worst fear really. Here's the full article where he explains the current situation -

Given that our already small squad is now depleted, there are three in that list which worry me:

Simon Davies - this is the third different injury reported; neck, back and now hip. Hate to suggest it but age does seem to be catching up on him.

Phillipe Senderos- his second pre-season injury in a row leading to a long lay-off. By the time he comes back he'll only have 6/7 months left on his contract and I question whether he'll get enough game time to prove that he's worthy of an extension.

Kerim Frei - just concerned about the length of time he's taking to recover from what was described as a 'knock' (on International duty). As an aside, Kerim was at Motspur Park watching the U21s on Monday night sitting alongside Luis Boa Morte - so full marks to both for supporting the team. I mention that also because Frei wasn't very agile looking going up and down the steps and stupidly I didn't have the nous or nerve to ask ask him how he was !

Cottager I did and got the stock answer.
    "we are getting there".
It makes one wonder, are these micky mouse friendlies are worth it,
it seems that every team suffers in these matches.
If FIFA were made to pay a players salary on their sanctioned friendly internationals, some order may be restored

I feel both Davies and Senderdross will be released at the end of the season. We have too many promising youngsters waiting in the wings to keep these two on the books.

Tend to agree with you on this one bandit,as i think Jol will also dip his toe into the transfer market.

I don't think I'd be too upset to see them go. Digger has been a great servant for the club, but will be 33 at the end of the season and plays in a position where it is relatively easy to integrate younger players.

Senderos has never really established himself with us. 24 league games in 2 seasons isn't great.

I think you could be right…

Davies isn’t really getting many first team opportunities when he is fit…

Senderdross make me very nervous when he is on the ball. I much prefer a paring of BH and AH at the back with Senderdross as backup rather than him as a starter.

I would be surprised (or broken hearted) if they both moved on at the end of the season.
