We've had a lot of them...and to key players (Dyer won't be back this season). All those extra games can't have helped, but... ...Michu and Vorm are back soon! ...Rangel is back already! ...and Hernandez looks to be only out for a fortnight or so. Couple this with a break in the Europa and an addition or 2 this month....things are looking up my friends, things are looking up! Yesterday in the Prem saw teams suffer the following injuries; - Coloccini out for 6wks (Newcastle) - Niklas Bendtner out for "weeks" (Arsenal....this on top of Ozil, Ramsey, Giroud, Gibbs and Rosicky injuries) - Lampard and Ivanovich out for a month (Chelsea) I've got a feeling there are going to be many more injuries in the next 6-8 weeks. Let's hope our luck changes and we don't see any more major injuries. We can build some momentum in February if we can field our first XI regularly.
Yes Terror, injuries have been a real problem this season and we seem to be feeling it more due to a number of factors. Most of them have been to key players, they've been out for weeks or even months, and we have a small squad. Also, we've been ever so lucky in previous seasons imo. European competition is definitely a factor. Dyer not back this season though? Is that right?
This is what I hear...don't know that for a fact though. By the way Knackered I've never apologised for not being very pleasant to you when I first started posting on this site, sorry fella, I was out of order. Happy New Year.
Pablo could be back earlier than first thought , the results should be known by the weekend according to the manager so fingers crossed for that one . Michu and Vorm back for the big end of season push which I think we're going to need this season due to our present points tally.Nice to see Dyer back if at all possible but only when he's fully fit and not rushed back to fill a need .If the club does intend to bring in loan/signings I'm sure they've considered all areas .We can only sign 2 loanees from the PL so if we need more it'll either be a permanent signing or another loanee from lower league .
No problem Terror - most of us have said stuff here we'd rather not have. As the Secretary of my Fan Club will tell you (his name escapes me but I think the word 'Dragon' is in there somewhere), I have an uncanny ability to rub people up the wrong way - it's an art form. Happy New Year to you too.
When it comes to mid-season operations and the return of the player to active duty, I think we hold our breath. There is the schedule, the optimistic schedule, and the ****-hits-the-fan schedule. In reality they are back when they are back, and we need to manage the risk and plan for the likelihood of that not happening; that way a return is a huge bonus and in any event we have ourselves covered.
The way Rangel attacked yesterday, if we could get another decent right back, provided we can't get any wingers in, I'd give Rangel a go on the right wing.
Agree valley he did very well and was my MOM due to the job he was asked to do..We do need some players to come in regardless of injuries anyway or once we start playing in europe again we will be in the same boat.
It's all well and good running into space with /without the ball ,but in a race getting back to defend then I'm afraid he's always now going to get slower due to age creeping up on him.
Last I heard on Dyer, was that he'll be back in February, not heard anything different since? Dyer and Britton two of our very best players, big hearts too!............
http://www.southwales-eveningpost.c...inger-search/story-20413465-detail/story.html I obviously heard wrong about Dyer as the Post has him returning at the end of January (see above) Lamah is out for 3 weeks, as is Hernandez. We need a (mostly) clean bill of health from February onwards and we should surge up the table.
That fantastic news if it comes off , as you say we now need to try and keep relatively injury free then we'll start to fly.
Of course it's a blow. He's starting to find some form and, at his best, will influence games. He's tackling a bit more now as well and I'm guessing that the coaches have had a word. If we the fans could see that he had to be more of a defensive presence then they also must have realised it. Hope he'll be back soon.
I still maintain that some won't be bothered ivor, and imo they are wrong. JDG is one of only a few players we have who is capable of providing service to Bony.
