Just an update.. WES Brown is out for two months â but Sunderland are happy! The centre-back sustained knee medial ligament damage in Sundayâs FA Cup tie â but boss Martin OâNeillâs worst fears, over a season-ending injury, have not been realised. OâNeill revealed: âWe donât think Wes needs an operation, but heâll be two weeks in a brace and youâre looking at possibly eight weeks. But thatâs nowhere near as bad as we first thought. âWe thought it was season-ending at first having come down on his knee. âLee Cattermole is feeling a lot better and heâs hoping to start running at the back end of next week. âDavid Vaughan is feeling better but is still very, very sore. The swelling is still up and itâs looking like a few weeks for him. âSo we do have our injury worries and there are others, too, like Nicklas Bendtner. âBut we are getting great performances from the side regardless of who is playing it seems and we simply have to look at keeping that going.â
