Most of the arguments about todays game are around the Red Card and Penalty, but we cant change that. If we lose Agger and/or Kelly long term that could be very bad for us indeed. From what I could see, both seemed quite serious, and both have injury histories so I would not be surprised if both of them joined Lucas on the sidelines for at least a month or so. The centre back slot would have to go to Coates IMO, Carra is simply too slow and too much of a liability to be used in games other than Carling Cup/Europa League games against not so good teams. With Kelly, who has rightfully won a starting place over Enrique, out, we could see either Enrique coming back in at LB with Johnson moving to the right, Wisdom playing RB as he did in the Europa, with Johnson staying on the left, or Robinson as LB. Whilst Enrique may seem like the best option, recent performances have made me (and several other LFC fans) lose A LOT of confidence in him, so much that I would actually be happier to see either Robinson or Wisdom rather than Enrique. What would you guys like to see, and what do you expect to see?
My opinion is we use Coates. We paid for him - he might as well give him a chance if he is to make it in the long run. Jose, Skrts, Coates, Johnson
I agree with this but suspect it will be Carragher rather than Coates, especially after Rodgers' recent comments about Jamie!
But we all know Rodgers talks a lot of bollocks, comments about Andy Carroll are exhibit "A". Carra no longer seems able to read the game as well as he use to, and is now making far too many mistakes. So hopefully Rodgers talk is just that, and the common sense of giving Coates a run will win the day.
Coates and Carragher are both a little risky and pose their own liabilities... however, Coates will get better with experience. I don't think Carragher needs any more experience. Give Seb some games- the experience will improve him, even if he isn't the finished article yet.
Could be a big bit for Ashley Williams in January. Coates got the nod against City so I expect him to again. My main concern is that neither of them compliment Skrtel like Agger does. The only player who could is Danny Wilson, but he hasnt been seen all season.
Williams has been useless so far from what I've seen. He was run ragged against the blueshite on Saturday. We need better but we needed cover brought in over the summer not in ****ing January The worst thing is with Agger out we could have finally had a look at MK at centre half...and then he gets injured as well Got to be Coates IMO but Jesus we are in really deep **** squad wise. 3 centre backs 1 of whom is ancient and one of whom is inexperienced to say the least. A left back who has lost the plot, one decent winger who we are about to burn out, a keeper who's hands have fallen off and one decent forward who never gets any decisions because he's a diving tart. Thank god we bought Joe Allen though eh lads. Thanks a ****ing bunch FSG for being tight fisted twats
There are rumours that Agger has done his medial lingaments in - if so, he could be out for the season. Massive loss. But I can see Coates ahead of Carragher and it's time for him to step up. Quite worrying really. There are also rumours about us being interested in Danilo of Udinese.
Its a bit late for us to be interested in players a month after the transfer window closes don't you think?
I'd say that was your opinion rather than 'we all know' I agree with you on the rest but guarantee that Carragher plays against Norwich next week baring injury/suspension
We will just have to deal with it. Coates can come in. Wisdoms prefferred role is CB (a ball playing one to boot-like Agger) Losing Agger is always a massive loss, but we will just have to deal with it...... This season is all about the future....Lets be realistic, FSG, brendan and alot of fans are not expecting us to win anything this season....Its all about setting up Brendans team. Young players will have to play. Sama may get a few games. It may not be ideal in the short term, but it will be a really good thing in the long term, even if all it does is help us sort the men from the boys. Our small squad this year has given the emergence of Suso, Sterling and Wisdom.....Long may it continue and I hope lots more of the young uns continue to come through.... That said, i really hope Dagger is back asap.......great player!
We took a punt with Agger this summer, £23 million is a lot to turn down for a player made of glass, worse fears have been realised it would seem. I would go with a back 4 of Johnson --- Skrtel---- Coates----Enrique. Enrique is solid, he's just not that amazing going forward. and his flaps this season have been no worse than old flappy Reina's mares.
Well one positive is at least everyone can now see what a total shambles the summer was. Being proactive is all well and good but it is **** all use when we can't actually sign any players. So we get 3 months of rumours about being linked with some great players...whoopee ****ing do....meanwhile back at the ranch....our whole herd has mad cow disease. Can you imagine how much other teams will be trying to screw out of us for their players come January knowing how desperate we are??
Would love to see more of Wisdom. I know it was only against Young Boys, but I thought he looked confident, composed and classy on the ball.
