one of the lowest points of my city supporting life..division 3 hammerings v mansfield where bad, but at least i didnt know loads of the twats, who will make my life a living hell for the next year... lets start with the keeper, useless twat cant even line a wall up, everybody sat around me was saying, that wall is only covering the leeds fans, it wasnt even covering the goal..surely he isnt leaving it like that? is he? oh its 3-1... leeds where 1st to every loose ball, pains me to say it but they wanted it more, right from the off they where quicker and up for it, warnings where there before the 1st goal, leeds lining up shots from the edge of the box..even the free kick for the 3rd, came from leeds winning the loose ball from a knock down then theres the subs, putting on a big targetman for a wide man, and then 2 minutes later, removing the other wideman, therefore leaving you with a big targetman and no bastard to put any crosses in the box..the last 2 subs just smacked of desperation and subbing for the sake of subbing.. we had about 50 corners, and everyone of them was abysmal!! i stopped cheering the winning of them in the end, as they where absolutley pointless.. sorry for anybody that wasnt there, that my match report isnt as eloquent as some others, but hope you get the general idea..
It has honesty and passion, much more important than fancy words. It'll do for me and is spot on. COYH
when we passed it around in pretty triangles for 20 minutes, didnt force there keeper into 1 save, and put in 5 **** corners, yeah i saw it? thats a good days work now is it..
As well as not lining up his wall correctly our goalie knocked the ball upwards and not over the bar for the 1st goal and let the 4th squirm under him. We had 15 corners to their 4 but despite various people taking them they were all crap and as said there was no pointin getting excited at earning 1. Subs were strange - agreed apart from removing Daws who was totally out of his depth, the second and third were strange to say the least. One plus - clutching at threads but McLean probably had his best game for us.
Agreed, Keeper needs 4/5 years more experience with someone else? Our superb talent spotting team need to wake up and smell the coffee!
It could be worse, we could be Grimsby - bottom of the Conference. GTFC - the 116th best team in English football.
dont comment on it then, you can all look on the bright side etc, if you want...ipswichs result tonight, put ours on saturday in perspective,,,that was a leeds team missing 5 or 6 regulars, and they raped us...passing the ball about for 5 minutes pretending to be barca, might be easy on the eye..but shots on goal win football matches...and having then at 3/4 - down doesnt count!
Out of interest, can anyone name a single game in the last 4 years where we've been in complete control for the full game, managed to score AND taken all 3 points? I can think of two. In four years. Under 3 managers. I guess it's an intrinsic part of watching Hull City.
Like has been said this is typical City, lose when you think they will win and vice versa- though i think i'd be like DJ if id actually gone to the match so glad i missed out, gutting to lose like that against them
You can't blame the 1st on the keeper he was lucky to get anything to it and the 4th he could barely see the ball so he was unsighted, the player was right in front of him.
i dont know if im more frustrated at the game, or people, saying we played well..i just hope i work for a boss as easy to please as some people one day, just have to turn up roughly on time, and try not to damage any equipment and youl be fine..
The first one he just had to push it up in the air and not infront of him and there's no danger, same with the second. The wall for the third would have protected the blokes in the front of the stand, but not 3/4 of the goal that was open. We had 15 corners, how many of those even got to 1 of our men? I can think of 2, one that was too high for McLean and one that Chester put about 6 foot wide. Brady needs to play on the left or not at all, he must have been so easy to defend against because he couldn't cross with his right. Daws is finished at the top level unfortunately. McKenna is also finished at this level (if he was ever good enough). At least we have 2 new chants and some decent atmosphere for a change, even if we did have to move seats to stand up because of a couple on the back ****ing row!
What really worries me is that we are rebuilding around new players of the likes of Adebola,Harper,McClean,Simpson,Hobson,McKenna etc etc doesn't float my boat when we pick up the aged and infirm and the less than competent. I'm all for giving Nigel the benefit of the doubt due to limited funds and a Cockney aresehole but sometimes I question his substitutions and team format..........but what the Hell after Brownie it seems tame in comparison and it wouldn't be the Tigers if we didn't have some problems. I would still prefer to be in the play offs than just a mediocre mid table waste of a season , so come on NIGE sort them out or KICK them out.
Sir Alex couldn't make a silk purse from a sow's ear. We do not have a team capable of achieving play-offs and still have some 'dead-wood' to get rid of. Mr Allam will not be putting any more money into the club this season so we have what we have and Nigel will have to do his best with it. These guy's will give their best but will most likely be outplayed in most games this season. We will have to sit it out and see if Mr Allam is serious about a 35,000 seater stadium in which case he will need a completely new team if he is to fill it and that aint gonna happen this season.
Didn't think I'd have much to smile about this morning but cheers DJ, your eloquence is spot on. Okay, last night was most definately a 'bad day at the office' especially as it was Weeds inflicting the damage, and there was certainly no plusses to take out of the game. Like everybody I was bemused by the substitutions and dismayed with just about everybodies performance, particularly the scouse reject between the sticks, but hey, let's peer over that half FULL glass for a moment. We're THREE games into the season, Blackpool despite losing several of their best players are still a pretty good side and I don't think many of us would have been too despondent to have come away from the KC with a point in the first game. I'm sure we'd ALL have been happy with a point at Ipswich last week, especially after they'd thrashed Brizzle the week before and likewise wouldn't have been unhappy to take a point at Elland Rd last night, despite them having lost several of their better players. That would have given us the three points which we have, so to my way of thinking we're still on course. Now all NP has to do is the simple task of erasing that shiiiiite performance from their minds and turning round their pathetic home form in time for Saturday. Where's the problem?
So are you honestly saying Leeds where three goals better than us? Cause i completely and utterly disagree, Leeds deserved to win fair, but that was because they where clinical and not because of the fact we where poor. And that pretty period in the first half where forced Leeds into plenty of corners cause of good balls into the box you allude to being pretty passing, every other football club in the world would be happy holding onto the ball and waiting for someone to make a good run, just not City fans. At least your not as bad as the callers on Radio Humberside.
Does anyone know if Peter Gulasci supports Leeds United? It was utter ****e last night, no two ways about it, it was embarrassing.
One caller on the way home said were 10 years behind Leeds??? I was gutted last but weve had to buy what we could afford weve got a lot of young players who are going to have games like last night but they will learn from last night and improve. We are only 3 games in and this team will get better.
