....well Hughes said after Liverpool that we needed to build momentum and take the postive attitude through to today otherwise we will be back to square one.

Well we are back to square one.

The win that would have boosted confidence has now evaporated. I did think it was the turning point of our season.

Shocking display today - too many players on big money not performing

We look doomed frankly, and this is IMHO realism not pessimism

Very annoyed at loyally spending so much money when too many of the players just don't seem to care

    Nail on head Stortford.

Fans have tried and tried to be loyal to this team, but there is only so much we can take. We spend hundreds, and in some cases thousands of pounds every year following QPR, and im sorry but this year we have got next to nothing back.

I would mind less if the team consisted less of players who keep spouting platitudes on the official website and more of honest, hardworking professionals

Don't keep telling me how up for the next game you are if you then play like a Sunday league player <grr>

It seems that the more we spend on a player the less the return!

This season has shown you simply cannot beat 100% hard working players.

Mackie, Hill, Derry, Helguson and Cerny have given their absolute all to the cause, and imo have been the star performers. For me Hill is easily POTY. Without a shadow of a doubt.

    Exactly Judo

This is how Norwich and Swansea have survived

We've brought in too many players in my view and too many of those have really underperformed

It just p*sses me off that players can have such an arrogant attitude. If I kept underperforming like that in my job I'd be on a disciplinary or just fired!

All fair points about our players guys. The system that NW had of buying squad players from other clubs with "something to prove" has backfired. They were squad playes for a reason. Most of them are very average players.
I think next season we need to buy young hungry players on smaller contracts with the promise that they will be paid more depending on consistent performances. Just look at young MacClean today. His energy was amazing, last year he was playing league of Ireland football. Barton only came to us because nobody else wanted him, remember that Newcastle did not offer him a new contract. Ferdinand was 4th choice CB at Sunderland. Young was released by Villa, why?. SWP was a squad player at city who could not even make their match day squad most days. We bought very very badly last summer. I know that they were panic buys and NW prob had little option but to strengthen the squad with whatever was available.
We all know the limitations of most of our players. We do need a clearout this summer. I hope we can take in 4-5 young players for the future. Unfortunately the current players will represent our club for the next few months. Let's stay behind them until the summer and show that we are united as a club. I just hope that TF and Amit clear out this deadwood in the summer.

I agree with you Nuts - and I worry what the summer transfer window will hold for us

The club won't recoup the fees spent on many of those "deadwood" players, and we could be saddled with a horribly high wage bill

Promotion at the first time of asking is going to be very difficult - none of the teams relegated the season before last came back up with us, and last year's relegated sides are having a very mixed time too

SWP and Barton have to go no matter what division we are playing in. We are too small a club to be paying anything above 40000 grand a week. Zamora will not want to play Champ football. Think most of the rest need to be kept if we are going to mount a successful campaign. Smith and Mackie need to be kept. We can let Kenny go and get ourselves a new young keeper.
