Matt Harrold admits words and views were exchanged between the players after Bristol Rovers suffered a disappointing defeat at Dagenham & Redbridge last weekend. The players tried to get to the bottom of some of their problems during a post-match inquest, after slipping to their second successive defeat. Harrold on the post match inquest: "Everyone was quite angry after the game and we all got things out of our system. I have played in the game a long time and these things happen after games sometimes. It was nothing spectacular, but words were said. When you put certain demands on each other, words and views will be exchanged when you lose a game or produce a bad performance. That is the right mentality to have in the changing room and I'm glad we have it. The performance wasn't good enough and we need to do better. It was a disappointing and frustrating afternoon for everyone involved, but we've moved on now and we are determined to make things right." Harrold on the penalty miss: "I was gutted. Had that gone in it may well have been an opportunity for us to go on and win the game. It didn't play on my mind during the game, but I couldn't enjoy anything about the next day for thinking about it. You never want to miss a penalty, but, if you have to, you'd rather it happens when you are two goals up and not at a crucial point in the game. What can you do, though? You just have to put it behind you and move on to the next game." Harrold on Hartlepool: "Confidence is never going to be sky high after you lose two games, but there is a determination among the lads to put things right. Everyone can see that we have to start playing better. We have played well in fits and starts, but we haven't hit our top form at any point at all yet this season. We've had to grind out a couple of results and we have been poor in couple of the other games. We want to put things right when we are back at the Memorial Stadium in front of our own fans and we need everybody behind us so that we have the best chance of doing that." Harrold on the league table: "I don't think it is worth getting too bogged down with the league table at this stage of the season. I haven't really looked at it because it is more important to focus on performances at this time of the season. We haven't clicked as a team as we'd have liked to yet, but we are working hard on our partnerships in training and I'm sure things will come with a little bit of time. Our league position will improve when our performances get better". http://www.brfcforum.co.uk/index.php?/topic/111552-strong-words-were-said/
Explains why all the players was silent on twitter and have been very quiet all week on twitter. If we dont see a good display tomorrow, I think we will have major problems!
