There's lots of chatter about Mandy coming back to the Toon... again...... where do you stand on this?
Personally I'd prefer him to Cisse but I'd also want to see Austin signed.
The only problem with AC is his injury record.
If he accepts a deal which allows for less wages if injured then we would be ok in my book.

    A forward line of:

    Mitro
    Perez
    Carroll
    Austin

Rumours are rife that former Toon player Andy Carroll could make a return to Tyneside.
The striker’s career at Newcastle United was marred by brushes with the law and reported heavy nights on the town.
But Carroll, who recently became a dad again and got engaged to his former TOWIE star girlfriend, appears to be a different man to the one that left the Toon in 2011.
Would Chronicle readers want to see him back on Tyneside? It doesn’t appear so.
David Newell wrote on our Facebook page: “Our biggest problem in January is keeping hold of players ie Perez.
“Teams sniffing around him and I bet Sissoko will be off also - Carroll won’t come, no profit to be made!”
Adam Barlow wrote: “I don’t see where he would fit in. We would have to drop Mitrovic or Perez, who are both better than him, plus we have Armstrong coming through the ranks.”
Michael Stobbart wrote: “No chance, too risky and expensive.”
Paul Nugent wrote: “He doesn’t score enough goals.”
Others disagreed and would like to see Carroll back in the Newcsatle squad - but only with certain conditions.
Daniel Joseph Welton wrote: “Yes, on performance pay and dont pay him when he is not playing.”
Tom Lowe wrote: “Yes, but with stipulations, maybe not as strict as pay when you play, after all he’s still young.
“Possibly a reduced wage when injured and a clause that dictates any trouble off the pitch can be followed through with an immediate contract termination.
“He was a good player and I truly believe he needs to be in Newcastle to feel truly at home, think most Geordies feel that way.”
Gordon Smith wrote: “Only get him back if we sign some wingers.
“Only plays well as a target man, needs crosses in the box, which we aren’t providing with any consistency.”
Wayne Black wrote: “If he could stay fit him and Mitrovic could be a menace for any defence.
“But, in a way, I don’t want him back.”

3 of the 4 players are all the same - it is clear we are looking for another big player, so will either be Austin/Dost/Carroll.

I wouldn't mind Carroll for a small fee and no more than £30,000 a week wages - he would be back up for Mitrovic!

He's injury prone so i wouldn't bother personally

Add that fact to the fact he's ****e and it's not very exciting really is it.

No big man up top is really exciting - he wouldn't be the starting striker anyway! Imagine 70 minutes in a game where Mitro has battered the defence and then as he tires we bring on Carroll to do the same! Not saying I want himlike but as a back up not bad!

Might be an option from the bench but for me pace is essential in the premiership not just a big lumbering target man. It is possible to be both. Mitrovic for me is too slow.

I like Carroll, he is a real handful. I've ticked yes but in reality I just think the injuries and inevitable of field activities up here make it a hard sell if you are being sensible. Cracking player though when fit.

He's another Big Dunc for me. Absolutely unplayable on his day, but far, far too much time spent on the treatment table.

Clearly no sell on value, but to be fair we have had more 'profit' out if him than any other player so that might not concern the fat man too much. I would take him as well as Austin, but not instead of. I just cant see him being a regular starter.

The bigger issue will be weather his TOWIE girlfriend wants to swap Sugar Hut for Tup Tup Palace and Amy Childs for Holly Hagen. Doubtful.

A lot of people use the injuries as a excuse and although he has had a couple, his lengthy time away from the field last year wasnt due to "injury" but due to substance abuse. Andy had been on the powder and West Ham arranged for rehab and dropped him whilst he could still test positive in any drug tests and therefore incur a ban.

He is clearly getting back to fitness and I would take him, as an option. Not as a leading or starting striker, but I think every team should have 4 striker's if playing two up front. Ayoze, Mitro, Arma and Carroll would do it for me, the ability to mix it up a bit. Get rid of Rivierre and Cisse.

Where did you hear that from? Never heard anything about this. For me it would make him even more of a liability. He probably wouldnt have been banned for as long as he was out injured.

I cant remember where the stories popped up from but images were circulating, I can only find these pics
    https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=a...e&tbm=isch&q=andy Carroll at V festival&imgrc=_

It does make him a liability, but then theres also the aspect that he now has a child and a family as such, he may have learnt his lesson? I dont know. I would take him, but not at the price West ham want or the salary he will demand.

Rumours about this substance abuse were circulating but there is no hard evidence. Unfortunately as Fowler found out, its all part of the life the accusations. Carroll definitely had genuine injuries last year. Whether it was this that kept him out, I think it probably was. Dyer and Bellamy had similar accusations levelled when here, and I had first hand information passed to me they were defo on the marching powder by a mate who claims he saw this going on in Malmaison. I still treat it with a pinch of salt on all counts (Fowler, Bellamy, Dyer, Carroll) because unless they have a failed test etc, its just people saying its so, which doesn't make it so.

    No thanks.

    1. Injury prone.

    2. We rarely put good deliveries into the box, which is what Carroll requires to be good. When he was here last time we had Barton, Raylor, Enrique etc who could all cross.

I dont see whats wrong with it, apart from it being illegal. Im not sure why a player would get banned, its not like it boosts performance. I did play with one guy who did like 1/2 a G before a sunday league game, and for the first 10 mins he won every header jumping and screaming sprinted everywhere, but after that he was blowing. was hillarious!

Im not just using injuries i don't rate him and ive already indicated you need pace up top not just a guy throwing themselves about.

Hence the plan to use Mandy as in impact sub for the last 10 mins after Mitro has tired them out.

I would say get him in! Purely for the fact we could have 2 great front 2 partnerships:

Andy and Adam, Aleksandar and Ayoze!

    Imagine that aaaaaaaaaaaaaaye.
