Final match in the already lost series and England playing like they're on the plane home already, 33-2 with Cook and Jennings already gone and Root and Moeen batting shakily. Could be over by Sunday at this rate...
284-4 is a decent recovery from that start. Good ton from Moeen, let's hope he can turn it into a very big score tomorrow. Hopefully we can get near or over 500 this time...
Normal service has been resumed, India slapping the ball to all parts of the boundary, only Kholi has failed, out for 15. The others have more than made up for that at 319-3...
Well and truly slaughtered today, 759-7dec and 303 not out for Nair. The highest total score ever against England in any test match. We now need 282 to avoid an innings defeat on a docile pitch, the question is: Will our players have the character to bat out the whole of the final day against India's clever spinners?...
No doubt when we get up in the morning and switch on BBC breakfast around 7ish we'll be greeted with the news that England have collapsed to 95 -6 and starring another innings defeat in the face.......
Jesus we really can't cope over there can we? I always thought the bowlers would struggle but had hoped the batsmen would have competed better.
If we can't hold out batting on that pitch tomorrow something is wrong in our game, but they hsve class spinners & will crowd round the batsmen so don't hold your breath!
Well done India. England need to start planning long term, if they are ever going to compete at Test matches. Aussies will be looking forward to The Ashes.
Total humiliation in the end, 10 wickets for 104 runs after a good start. Too many players chosen because they can bat a bit and bowl a bit, just pick 5 best batsmen, 4 best bowlers, specialist keeper and a proper all rounder. Too many players picked from one day cricket bringing slapdash mentality into what should be a serious arena...
We don't have one top class spinner. The batsmen can't play spin. We were always going to get hammered over there. England will look a different team in the home tests, but we simply have to plan long term and stop being so one-dimensional in the test arena.
