Just been looking back through some old threads and even as recently as three weeks ago no-one could have dreamt we would be 9 points clear of third and sixteen points clear of 4th place before the end of March! This team just gets better and better! Must be massive pressure on West ham now to get a result on Tuesday and against Reading next weekend. Fat Sam is beginning to run out of excuses.
At the start of the season, every 'Championship Preview' I looked at had us only as high as 10th, and I didn't expect it either, to be beating teams like Birmingham 4-1! Regardless of what comes at the end, this season has been an achievement to Southampton Football Club. Together as One! COYR!
We have great young players who are going to get better and better. We need three or four additions to the squad and we will have a side capable of handling what the PL teams will throw at us. Morgan just gets better and better and Cork likewise. Fox will do a great job for us. Rickie has the determination to score goals and wants to make up for lost time - what a great player he has become. Lallana is going have PL fans saying where has he come from? Tadarnari Lee will frighten some PL team defences into submission. Kelvin has improved beyond recognition over the last few years. Guly will have the time of his life running the opposition ragged with his high work rate, deft flicks and link up play as well as his goals. Richardson's assists record will go on increasing. All we need to do is to address the right midfield and add some decent cover for Jos and Jose and for Rickie. I am really looking forward to playing in the PL and I hope that it is us Reading and Brighton who go up. The three best teams south of London.
Very true Godders. I must admit the youngsters haven't had much of a look in since we got knocked out of the cups but hopefully they will get a few games once we have promotion wrapped up!!!!!
