Well that is how I am feeling right now about this week’s lack of inbound transfer activity from PR.

Last weekend PJ clearly stated that he was confident of having 2 new faces on board before the end of this week, as he had previously stated something similar the week before. Well as yet nothing to report, well apart from the free transfer of Fullop to the Baggies and now the whispers Town considering a bid for possibly Josh Carson.

The hope of a fresh new start with PJ had lifted almost every supporter of this club, encouraging signs & signings during the pre season added to this, dampened a little with the sale of CW although I feel this was very good business on our part. This was all then raised to another level with our excellent start to the season away to Bristol City, Town all this week have been spoken about as the “dark horses” for promotion this season.

For me though we are still at very best going to finish around the same spot as last season, Tuesday night was proof, although proof was not needed that our squad has no depth to it whatsoever, I would also add that PJ should have had the decency to warn the 10,000 or so fans who all paid to see this game that they would not be watching our first team.!

If the rumours surrounding Carson or for that matter any of the players who started last Saturday are true I for one will not be happy. The management at this club surely must see as we all do that we need additions to our squad not subtractions.
We are still in need of another keeper, right back, a couple of centre backs (who can stay fit), creative midfielder & another forward as I feel Scotland should be sold.

Come on PJ sort it out please, Clegg & Evans get the money out, we have lost a bit of our momentum this week, the wheels on this bus are in danger of coming off.

Hoppers it was disappointing, but just a few points:

    1) No-one should've expected the first team on Tuesday, an announcement was certainly not necessary.

    2) You are doing what the budgies accuse us off more than anything else - overreaction from one result (one win we'll be Champions, one defeat and the season is over).

    3) This will hopefully bring expectations down a little following the buzz about the signings and the opening day result - we still have a massively long way to go to build the squad, a lot more than just two players.

    4) If you ask me, £4 million for a kid who's played only ten games is a huge fee! He looks very promising but I can see why we'd consider an offer like that.

It sounds like we are waiting for the other teams regarding 2 new signings, not much PJ can do about that.

I'm a big fan of Carson but if we get a good offer we have to at least think about it...

Agree with Hoppers on all fronts.

What really pisses me off is the time wasting, time wasted chasing Woodgate and Upson when tbh we had no chance of signing these players, should have concentrated on other CB's. Also i am pissed off with the whole CWick deal, we sold ourselves short once again, Soton had the right idea with AOC and got probably the maximum possible!!
When are we going to learn and become more bloody rutheless?
As for new signings, we still need 2 CB's, GK and a strike partner for Chopra!!!
Come on Boy's release some of this money we have available!!

Totally agree with hamps on this one, I was actually surprised to see JET start, and if i'm honest i'm not surprised by the result considering that most off the reserves hardly play any competive games during the season because of the **** situation regards to no decent league for our reserves to play in.

So 8 new players in one window with two weeks still left (assuming the paperwork gets finished for Andrews) is not enough for either of you? Get real!

I agree with spanish that we need at least 2 CB's, because we are short on numbers but as far as everywhere else on the pitch i don't think we are to bad off. Regards the CWICK deal/AOC deal is all the money being paid upfront for AOC, or is the same as Cwick with add on's?

Steady on Hamps, no need to throw your rattle around.
The big problem though is 8 new signings but not all in the positions we are well short of either starters or cover.
I assume you are not at all bothered with our goalkeeping or center back situation then.?

**** me Lancs, once again you seem to have lost your head as you did on the Bowyer thread!!

Yes we have signed some decent players but we have not filled all the necessary positions, we have been desperate for a new CB or 2 for ages but instead we sign someone like Ellington, who in my humble opinion is a complete waste of space!!! Then we let Fulop go for nothing and have no backup, sorry but i don't class ALB as backup!!!

Just because we have signed plenty of players does not mean we have to agree with all the signings or settle for that, if you cant see that we are desperate for new players then i would suggest you don't have a clue about football.

Also, who do you think should partner Chopra because tbh i don't think any of our forwards are good enough, which will mean playing 451 all season, which i think would upset many town fans!!

Spanish, I think you are being a bit harsh on ALB, He has earned us more points than cost us over his time here so he is more than adequate to step in, Regarding Fulop, how can we justify having a £15k a week keeper sitting on the bench! sorry but if it meant getting him off the wage bill by giving him away we done the right thing.
Yes i would like to see 2 CB, because we are short in that area, but to slate players who haven't had the chance to prove themselves to us as town players is going over the top in my opinion.

Ellington was a shocking signing considering we already have one slow lumbering lummux! Ingimarsson was bought to warm the physio couch and to keep him in a job for the season. The others have been inspirational to be fair and getting Chopra is a master stroke.

Not every signing is gonna work out especially with so many at once i think PJ's done well so far although a strong CB would be nice.

Keep up the good work JWM.

Personally I think that is totally OTT to even suggest that the wheels are coming off! PJ knows that he needs another CB - trust him to do the right thing.

PJ is 6 months into a 2 & 1/2 year deal. We are clearly going in the right direction, but it will take time, so just keep the faith.

    Steve

If stockdale got called back would you be happy with ALB because i think you will find most would not be!

Ellington, in my opinion was a very poor signing.

The rest were very good signings but we are still in desperate need of at least one CB and a GK. Maybe a striker is not urgent but i honestly don't think we have anyone to partner Chopra.

Hopefully we can get a new CB in within the next few days, then we can probably relax a little more but until then......

Oh and Strats, who said the wheels are coming off? I certainly don't think that but i do think we need a few more to be a force this season.

If Stockdale does get recalled I'm sure that we could secure an emergency loan fairly quickly so not really a worry.
