Really disappointed with the Mackie decision. Another error from Grandad Harry. Think he is losing the plot. Get rid of all the players that could do a job in the championship i.e Campbell, Bothroyd and now bloody Mackie. Mr Utility has been sold. A feat example of how to be a pro. Players like that are worth double in value to me. He isn't as technically bad as some people made out and would see him in a number of positions week in and week out. Time for Harry and co to piss off. Rant over.
I don't think Harry wanted Mackie to go, did he? Mackie put in a transfer request. Though may be he felt undervalued by Redknapp
Mackie wants out I suspect because he's not valued and also because of the money imbalance between players, if what we read is correct. And I cant blame him, I'd do exactly the same. Arrys gone very quiet hasn't he, since his stupid comments the other day. I've lost all respect for him myself, he doesn't seem to know his arse from his elbow. Just like Beard.

I have heard him called Mr QPR, Mr Utility and a 'legend'. I am sad to see him go but that is a bit OTT I think
He was only going to be a sub, barring injuries, and he clearly wants regular first team football. If he doesn't want to fight for his place, and would rather go elsewhere, it is the right decision to let him go. I back 'Arry & The Board on this one. As for Hooper, it must have been very very close. 'Arry has some egg on his face for his comments there. We still have a very good squad, if still not a very good team. If we keep the bulk of the players we've got, and make another one or two hungrier signings, we'll be ok. Bosingwa will be gone, as will Cesar. But we still have some fantastic players. It's not all doom and gloom.
When Harry bangs on about wanting players with the right attitude etc for the Championship, I presumed he meant players like Mackie. Not the most technically gifted but a decent, whole hearted and versatile Championship player. So to see him leave before any of the other lazy mercenaries is hard to stomach. Particularly after losing out on Hooper. Hope Harry takes note of how Forest did the deal - quickly and without so much as a public word to alert other clubs. He needs to get a decent signing in sharpish else this air of negativity is going to cloud the start of our season. After all that's gone on this week, if we get beat by Southend tonight, the media are going to label us 'crisis club'. And the season hasn't even started!
Betting odds - would you risk putting 13 quid down on us to get 8 quid back? On paper we should take those Shrimpers to the cleaners 6-0
Why are we a 'crisis' Club? Very few players get signed or sold at the start of the transfer window, as agents hold out for deals and offers. Not who, but what position do you think we are sorely lacking in? Do you think an unproven Hooper would have fit the bill? I can't really understand the defeatist attitude displayed on here sometimes - we're still in July FFS and there's some superb players in our squad. Who in the Championship wouldn't want Faurlin? Taarabt? SWP? Green? Hoilett? Come on guys, 'Arry has had to try and stop a glacier such is the situation he inherited after Hughes and it takes time. We have a good squad, just not yet a good team. Some of them have to become the fighters that 'Arry demands. This is his Management role. Let him get on with it.
We're sorely lacking upfront. Remy is not going to play in the Championship so we need a replacement. And yes, I do think Hooper would have fitted the bill. I'm not saying we are a crisis club but the media, who love to dramatise situations, will see it that way. We lost our main transfer target at the eleventh hour, a fans favourite has gone, we lost to Peterborough so if we lose to Southend the media will spin it that way, despite pre-season friendlies being meaningless. I don't see our squad as superb either, it's largely still the one that was so abject last year. Tarbs will be off in the next week. As for SWP, Green and Hoilett - i don't fancy any of them on last year's showing.
We are in crises because we have a goalie with chocolate wrists, no cb depth, our best player is going to leave, we have a manager who couldn't give a crap about the club, we only have three forwards, one is a one legged donkey, the other won't even last a month before a season ending injury and has scored about six goals in three years and three of them were against us and player who could be in prison for the next five plus years. We can't even create chances against lower league teams. Still at least we bought in yet another CM clogger who is at best sixth choice.
I was expecting a more negative post, Flyer ;-) To counterbalance, our 'best' player (I assume you mean Taarabt?) is still with us. AJ is fit and getting match fit. I rate him. BZ will enjoy once again working with him and be the hold up player we need. Faurlin is back. Rémy will stay until at least January. SWP will be a great player in this league, Hoilett will get more game time, Simpson is a great full back. Rob Green is a quality keeper. Nedum can play comfortably at CB. Henry is a no-nonsense midfielder to challenge Derry's inclusion. I'm not so pessimistic, as you might gather!
Taarabt hasn't played in the pre season, its only a matter of weeks until AJ is injured. Zamora is shocking, I assume you haven't seen him recently literally lose every single challenge. Faurlin will be dropped for henry. Remy will be sold or banged up. SWP couldn't be a great player in a wheelchair league. Green is anything but quality. I agree with Simpson and Onuoha but they are hardly going to help us score or create chances.
Have to say anyone counting on either SWP or Hoilett will have a shock. They are pony and dont give a damn. In every pre season game they have failed. Two of those games were against lower league defences aswell. The sooner they both leave the better.
i totally agree, well ott in my book. The lad has not got much in the way of natural ability and is an 'athlete', yes he did try but how many times would e not get his head up. my 6 year old summed it up when i said mackie had left , he said is that the one who ran straight into the defenders!!
I'm gutted to see him go. Firstly, no player can really be judged by what happened last season. But in the season before he actually proved that he can really hassle top premier league defenses and score goals, if played in the right positions and given the game time (instead of players with bigger names). For example, why the **** did we get rid of Helguson? Because he didnd't have a big name. I for one will definitely be singing Mackie's name when Forrest come to LR.
