Jack Payne has signed a 4 year deal with Posh - that has to be very good news indeed

Some good news non striker related: Please to announce Jack Payne has signed a 4 yr deal with us. Quality acquisition Poshies!"

I haven't heard anything about him yet, other than the fact Posh had agreed deals with 2 other clubs and Sinclair rejected both deals -
clearly an issue with wages.

No swap involved:

@Bucks_Gill Nope pal. We bought Jack outright. No swaps involved. Sorry

I don't know the precise figures, but with an average home attendance of around 9,000 in the Championship
(7,500 in League 1) we have a very small wage budget in comparison to other Championship clubs.

It is purely an educated guess but I think the average wage at Posh is around the 3-4k mark, we had players like Boyd and McCann
on much more than that but most of the younger players (especially the ones coming up from the youth team)
would be on 1-2k per week.

No offence meant here, but I am just wondering how a 'middle aged' player in League 1, can think he should be better paid. Surely if he was worth more, then he would have been taken on by a bigger club.

If someone offered me 200 a week let alone 2k, I'd snap their bloody hands off

More good news from Posh - Grant McCann has signed a new 2 year deal, combining playing with coaching the under 15 team before
moving into coaching/management full time.

Had just read that on the Posh website ..... Think that is a great move for us

Really delighted .... hope he can teach his dead ball skills !

Who will be the next signing? When asked on twitter this morning if there would be any more signings Darragh replied "Yes"
