The parting of the ways was at a rather inapt time, with PNE Rotherham Notts C Walsall and Stevenage coming up..... 2 draws and a couple of wins would see us climb, Sheff was unlucky, but I think a draw at PNE WAS ON THE CARDS, likewise v Rotherham or Walsall and wins against the other 2 REMEMBER also SOD's rolling contract was in the process of being re negotiated...... IRRESPECTIVE OF WHAT YOU THINK NOW, IN THE BEGINNING the board said we are going to totally change the way we look at things and the players we need WE WANT younger, under.....2*?'s THAT can be trained to the way we want...... so what happened there then! half the plan, not even half the season, and another manager needing to pick up the pieces of a squad he hasn't put together and most likely got other ideas to putting a team together ANYWAY .. We should have stuck...THE FAILURE IS NOT IN SOD, note JP'S comments AND the team, not in the team, as they are not conceding masses of goals but just need to start scoring, not in the coaching staff, the players are well fit... ...THE BAD PENNY, THE WEAKEST LINK, HAVENT A CLUE WHAT TO DO problem is JL I don't think he could organise a PU in a brewery even if he had everyone waist deep in a vat of BEER
The board wouldn't know the truth if it jumped up and bit them in the bottom. I don't think they understand the word "commitment" either, and until they do then our managerial door will keep on spinning out of control and we will really hit the bottom of the barrel.
I don't understand this barrage of abuse to JL? He's the one that got his dad into football, he had a choice Rovers or City and at 6 he choose City. So that tells me he wants what's best for City. We all assume he doesn't know what he's doing but to me this is how it goes. We JL came into the role he has now, we have started to get together a good academy that GJ ripped up under his old man SL. He's addressed the AV farcical with a redeveloped AG plan that has been approved and will turn our hallowed turf into a decent enough stadium fit for this day and age. He saw that DM was not producing the stuff on the field and got rid off him. To replace him with a manager that most of the people on here thought was going to turn us around. He even stated himself with 20 games to go win half of them and we would stay up. He thought he give SoD time to do this and preserve our championship status. That failed not down to JL apart from maybe holding onto DM a bit longer than he should of because he didn't want to be seen as a sack them person like his father wasn't before him. SoD in fairness he gave him long enough to turn things around and probably after Sheff Utd the decision was made and thought long about it, saying to himself unless we win against Orient he goes. To be fair we was on a bit of an unbeaten run but they was poor teams we played and we didn't set the world alight with our displays. Earlier this season we had this ticketing fiasco that was supposed to be for our benefit to save us money not the club but us the fans, this was a disaster so what happened he acted by getting rid of the person for not fact finding correctly. (Might be wrong on the getting rid part) What fans like us need to remember is that JL is a fan like us, his dad was introduced at a later part of his life but JL is just like us and choose to follow City and not be a glory hunter. He might make some mistakes, but to me he wants to rectify his fathers spending on players to give the club more sustainability. If we want to sack the board, for putting the club into debt to themselves not banks when countless clubs in this country are doing the opposite but going into problems. Then so be it that's your choice but even Man U owe a fortune to the Glaziers. And I think we've seen two clubs in the past 18 months have their name and colours taken from them. Me I will stick with the one we have and maybe him being a City fan will preserve our name and colour at least, and create this substainable club he tells us he wants.
DONT NEED TO SACK HIM...just hope he at sometime he will become more secure in himself, at the mo his "persona" indicates insecurity
