Who is the worst/least funny professional comedian? And who is the funniest person in the world of sport?
Lenny Henry / Ed Byrne / Stephen K Amos / Andy Parsons / Gina Yashere are really, really, really unfunny. Frank Skinner is the boy. In sport Peter Crouch seems good craic.
Jack Whitehall on League of their Own ended up being ****ing hilarious, surprisingly Peter Kay appears to be the widely accepted legend round these parts but he irritates me these days. Steve Coogan is my all-time favourite. Grew up on Partridge, Paul Calf and Coogan's Run. Michael Mcintyre is just not funny. Not now, not ever. Fed up with David Walliams on TV in general, all that lame camp ****e. Little Britain was aload of stereotypes repeating ****e catchphrases n all. Chris Coleman is a bit of a rising star. I think he's hilarious but there's doubts he will ever hit the heights of last season.
Coogan as Partridge is virtually untouchable................. legendary comedy character. Completely agree on the screechy **** Mcintyre ............... annoying as ****. Seems like the bloke that has bought into the Skunks is a bit of a comedian judging by his recent comments!!
There's not a single comedian I would pay good money to watch. Too much exposure nowadays means they go stale pretty quickly. Best comedy program is would I lie to you. Lee Mack especially is witty as **** but his stand up is poor. I prefer spontaneous wit any day of the week.
Jack Dee - roadied for him years ago when he'd just got his 1st series on Channel 4 and thought he was God's gift.... Total ****ing spunktrumpet Got to be Keys or Gray for commentators - everything they come out with is comedy gold
Not many female comediennes make me laugh, mostly because their material is about pregnancy, not being a man, having to deal with men, or being a lesbian. The better ones steer clear of falling into this trap. Nina Conti is usually alright. Phil Jupitus, Ross Noble, Sean Lock, Lee Mack, Ed Byrne, almost all American comedians etc are awful at stand-up, some of them are more suited to panel shows. My top stand-up performers are Jim Jefferies, Ricky Gervais (earlier tours), Dane Cook and Lee Evans. They are all different but masters of their style. Funniest people in sports... Kimi Raikkonen... and if you like boxing you have to hear Hearn's impressions of boxers.
Saw Ken Dodd years ago...he was pure class. He claimed to have invented self assessment in sport, surely fat Ashley is the biggest comedian of them all?
I couldn't name one least/worst funny professional comedian, there are way too many. Funniest person in sport for me has to be Jermaine Jenas, every time that **** open his mouth I just piss myself laughing. Being serious tho, Raikkonen is pure gold but I have to doff my cap to the legend that is Sir Murray of Walker
It's hard to beat some of Sir Bobby's best lines. "We didn't underestimate them, they were just a lot better than we expected." "The first 90 minutes of any game are always so important." Many others.
I always thought Harry Hill was a tedious unfunny ****, his commentary on You've Been Framed is ****ing unbearable. Russell Brand is awesome though, saw him live last year and he was hilarious. Further back, Steve Coogan's Alan Partridge series was brilliant, also loved League Of Gentlemen for the warped humour. And Rowan Atkinson of course, Blackadder will always be unbeatable. In the world of sport for unintentional humour it really is hard to beat our beloved Alan Pardew, read some of the "Pardisms" in the link below: https://sackpardew.com/quotes/pardisms/
Have to say I second a few of JPF's selections. Jim Jeffries is a favourite. America is trying to change him but they haven't got there yet. I quite like Steve Hughes too, another Aussie, off a slightly different tip though. Kimi is great fun in interviews as far as sportsmen go. Just an awkward bastard and loves ****ing with the interviewer. Very dry. Hate McIntyre, just can't get away with at all. Russell Brand I find an annoyance 80% of the time but he does have his moments.
Jim Jeffries is superb at ripping apart Americans. Very funny. I've seen Rich Hall live at the gala in Durham and he was very funny.
I ****ing love Rich Hall, one of the few americans I've seen who gets sarcasm...plus he sounds like Moe off of the Simpsons, the bloke is sheer comedy gold IMHO. I quite like Romesh Ranganathan as well, quite dry but very witty. There are few comedy geniuses about in my opinion but the below are up there for me like :- Leigh Francis Sacha Baron Cohen Steve Coogan Billy Connelly Anyone remember Phil Cool ? I remember growing up as a kid laughing my tits off at that bloke, he had a very bendy face
Hell yeah Eddie Murphy is up there like. He did two standups in the early 80's (Raw and Delirious) which i've watched many times over and over again and never get bored, absolutely hilarious.
