According to a report in the Swindon Advertiser, Chrissie Martin is starting to make an impression during his time there annd has lost 6Kg (nearly a stone) and could be in line for an elongated stay. http://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/sport/10132084.Martin_making_an_impression/ Personally, I'd quite like to see him sold for a nominal fee.
from the posts after the article the fans have quite taken to him, and career wise it may be a good move to sign for them permanently. DiCanio seems to be able to motivate him.
I never really understand why some NCFC supporters don't like him, I thought he done quite well here. But I'm glad he's doing well at his new club, hope they decide to keep him so he can get first team football.
So what was he up to before going on loan to Swindon then? Don't forget CH included him in the 25-man PL squad. Just sulking about being so low in the pecking order and not prepared to fight his way into contention? Dunky asks why some of us "don't like" him. Here's part of the answer.
Well I heard he wanted to stay and fight for his position, but who actually knows for sure? Maybe Lambert and Hughton just thought he wasn't quite up to being a premier league player. I was just saying he done quite well for us in League 1 and Championship, so I don't understand the hate towards him.
i don't think people hate him. from my point of view he hasn't and isn't going to be good enough for the premier league. i'm not totally convinced he's good enough for the championship either but i think he'd do ok for a middling to lower side. he has literally no chance of playing for us again and his attitude has done him no favours throughout his career. he's a better player than he has ever shown in my opinion but he's gone past the point of no return at city
I don't hate him, I just find his waste of ability frustrating. How long do you give someone before you decide to cut your losses?
definitely needs to sell, he's not going to make the 25 in january anyway so its best for him that he moves on.
He was given a chance in the game against Doncaster I think it was and he wasted the opportunity to 'fight for his place'. I don't hate him because of the goals he scored in our league 1 days (the opening 2 goals against Colchester come to mind!!), he just wasn't prepared to put the effort in to lose the weight etc. Swindon fans seem to really like him from the comments and as has been said, it could be his best canace of 1st team football,
i meant he won't play premier league games for us again, and yes, he has failed to grasp any chance he has had in cup games. times up for chris i'm afraid and a fresh start in a lower league could be the catalyst for a bright future for him
what does it say about him ( and city training ) that he has had to lose almost a stone to become effective in a much lesser environment. not quite the attitude of a player wanting to get into PL contention.
He was fairly descent at finishing, a lot of people used to question his attitude but always thought he wasn't too bad, if there was one player back in the league one days who used to divide opinions in my household it was him. It amazes me that some footballers who train most of the week and run a few miles every Saturday are able to hold timber, you'd have to eat a lot of crap and drink a lot of alcohol to do that.
Next time your in London visit a pub in Covent Garden called the Coach & Horses. Guinness has a reputation for not travelling well, but they get their hands on the real deal.
Never been to the Guinness factory, not a big Stout fan but when in London I always try to visit the Coach & Horses for a Guinness it would be rude not to.
