The Hudd
as i dont think it will be happening in January...but if Modders is still sounding about leaving would we be happy with Toress and 20 million?

just a thought

yes yes i should have kept it to myself but still....

happy new year by the way to all <ok>

Nah, wouldn't touch Torres with a barge-pole.

20mil plus Juan Mata. MAYBE.

i think he would be given a good chance to find his feet in the first team by Harry and with the likes of VDV,Bale,Lennon behind him and no doubt a class replacement for Modders..then he would stop looking like a manic depressive tw@ and start to show the form of old...maybe......

I'd love Torres at the club, but not if it means letting Moddy leave.

Besides, 20million plus Torres implies that the latter is currently worth 20million, seeing as a 40m bid was already rejected. Considering the fact that we're being quoted 10-15m for Ade, I can't fathom why- after 2 years of no-shows- Torres is worth that much. The fact that Chelsea wasted 50m is utterly irrelevant, IMO.

A player's value should be based on CURRENT form, not past glories. In Torres' case, it seems that even his past glories are running out of steam, what with Del Bosque hinting that his place in the Spanish team might also be doubtful.

And, for the benefit of any 'Pool fans who might be reading this, allow me to re-emphasise that key point:

A player's value should be based on CURRENT form.

In any event, a new GK to replace BF should be our top priority this summer, Tim Krul and Michel Vorm being top of my 'wish-list'...

Torres would thrive at Spurs. If he was in the right team he'd start banging the goals in again. Chelsea's style is not suited to his game.

It's all a little irrelevant, in my opinion.
We wouldn't be able to pay Torres' wages.

I think he'll end up back in Spain, for some reason.
Barca, possibly?
