Red Bull flexi-wing. Its not the Exhaust diffuser. Its not the engine mapping. Its not the exhaust melting the tyres. Its not specific tracks.
So just what is the secret of their ****-hot car?

You see the yellow bit at the tip of the nose? It's the bit behind that makes it so good.

Vettel, he seperates from winning the race to 3rd place...

Tbh it's probably the "cold blown diffuser" they have which the other top 3 teams don't have, scarbs explains it on his website.

Haynes have released the RB6 Owners' Manual (unless it's a hoax - I haven't really looked into it). That might reveal a few secrets.

One would have to question the wisdom of Red Bull for releasing it to Haynes if something could be gleaned from it! Nice thing to do though, one for the techies!

I very much doubt it is Vettel. I think they've done a Ferrari and based the car entirely around Vettel's driving style, which is why Webber is struggling. Webber is harder on the tyres than anyone of the front runners i believe, and I think thats got to do with the overall set up with the car. Mclaren's problem in Valencia was lack of rear downforce, which is what was causing the tyres to 'go off', but obviously with Red Bull it can't be that.

Yes, I do think that any other front runner could take the RB as Vettel is if they were in his shoes, and possibly Petrov, Rosberg and Kobayashi, so I think theres a just one small thing thats giving them a massive advantage. They may even loose that advantage if the rules changes AGAIN in the future. And, as its F1 and run by those greedy, self centered imbeciles at the FIA, that won't be long

Firstly, Ferrari don't base the car entirely around one person's driving style, at least not anymore. Massa has equal input into the car and has the same amount of support from the team that his teammate receives - for the time being. If anything, the car is probably better suited to Massa - as the F10 was designed to Massa's style and the F150 is an evolution of the F10.

I do believe however that the RB7 is better suited to Vettel's style, but I think Vettel's main advantage over Webber is down to how he uses the tyres, rather than the team going all out to make the car better for Vettel whilst ignoring Webber (which would be a dangerous thing do, considering they want the Constructors).

    Interesting you should say that.

In the hands of Vettel, the lap times are consistent and the tyres last quite long. With Mark Webber, the tyres seem to go off quite quickly. Red Bull's exhaust was described by Pirelli as being "too close" to the rear tyre, which suggests the exhausts play a part in heating the tyres quickly. In this case, driving style is critical to making the tyres last - and so Webber's driving style could explain why he struggles the most with the tyres (and is possibly made worse by the fact that Vettel is usually cruising out in front, while Webber fights other cars for position)

I think it's obvious, they're the only team with proper racing stripes down the side.

I meant the Schumacher/Barrichello Ferrari era! Rubens was and is a brilliant driver, the car was just not set right for him, and I think it made him look a worse driver.

As you said, Vettel has been up at the front, away from the battles, so he doesnt have to constantly burn away the tyres needlessly to stay ahead. The BTCC this year at Thruxton saw Plato have a puncture because he was pushing harder to try to catch the turbo cars.
