F1 teams are to meet this morning to finalise plans to bring back in season testing. They plan for one test during the season although when this will take place is yet to be decided, it is said that teams want it to take place at the start of the European leg of the season which currently is meant to begin in Barcelona on the 13th May. Possible locations for this test are Mugello, Silverstone and Jerez although nothing is certain. I am glad that have brought back testing and certainly one test session in a season will not hurt. However I would like them to look into a way of combining testing sessions for teams with chances for young drivers to get track time.
Two tests for me. At the beginning and the end of the European season. How many days are they going to be? If it was three days you could have one for each driver and then give a young driver the third.
I have just found this. And this. Seems like they are still figuring most of it out, but they have decided it will return.
I agree with AG's suggestion. This'll be a great chance for drivers like Jean Eric Vergne and Luca Razia to show their worth in F1. Hopefully it'd stop teams run away with the championship when there are other much more deserving teams that should take it
