IN RESERVE: R'S DRAW WITH ORIENT

Matt Connolly got 45 minutes under his belt, as an experienced QPR Reserve side shared the spoils with Leyton Orient at Harlington.

In freezing cold conditions, it was Rangers who started on the front foot, with Petter Vaagan Moen blazing an effort high over the O's bar.

The Norwegian midfielder saw another fine chance go begging soon after, when his header - from Bradley Orr's delivery - finished wide of the target.

However, the R's were soon in the lead, as Jason Puncheon's through-ball split open the O's back four, allowing a 'trialist' to finish in superb style from six-yards out.

Moments later, and Puncheon again exposed the Orient defence, playing in Tommy Smith, who neatly chipped the ball over the impending goalkeeper for the R's second.

The visitors halved the deficit on 29 minutes, when Jonathan Tehoue's glancing header beat the fully stretched R's goalkeeper.

Just before the half-time break Rangers regained their two-goal lead, thanks to the same trialist who opened the scoring.

Rangers - despite a flurry of substitutions - continued to create chances, but it was Orient who grabbed the fifth goal of the contest when QPR skipper Michael Harriman was deemed to have fouled an O's attacker inside the Rangers 18-yard box, and 19 year-old George Porter stepped up to pull a goal back.

The goal spurred the visitors on further, and with the last attack of the match the game was level.

A long throw into the R's 18-yard box found its way through a mass of blue and white shirts, gifting a red shirt the time and space to nod home in the final minute.

Exclusive: QPR trial for Dulwich ace

Exclusive: QPR trial for Dulwich ace

    By Richard Cawley

DULWICH Hamlet teenage star Terence Carter has joined QPR on trial.

The youngster will spend this week with the Premier League side as he looks to win a professional deal.

Carter has been part of Dulwich's youth academy for the past two years and is a key fixture in their FA Youth Cup team which has brought the scouts flocking to Champion Hill.

Dulwich boss Gavin Rose said: "Terence has shown a lot of promise and we wish him all the best with his trial.

"We're still not sure what his best position will eventually be - he can play at left-back, left midfield and as a centre forward.

"The trial at QPR is a good opportunity."

Brilliant North! Know who played Keeper? I suppose it wasn't Cerny as read on here he's packed up in cottonwool!

By the way there's been a lot in the Norwegian media the last few days about PVM probably leaving us in January, but didn't hear anything new. Neil said he was surprised nobody had been in for him.

Dulwich Hamlet are just down the road from me and they've got some serious talent coming through their youth set-up, they got through to the 3rd round of the FA Youth Cup last season and several of those players are now in their 1st team which is top of the Ryman Division One South.
