The sexy Spaniard got it right again. Kenedy is one hell of a player. Dubravka a star man again. Looks like we had a decent window after all (incomings and outgoings).
I'm not entirely sold on Kenedy just yet. He's a bit hit and miss. Even if he's available to buy I'd see what else is available on the market first.
Dubravka is a shoe in for the prices being quoted. He also comes across as wanting to stay. Kenedy is a very good player who, when settled, will be an intermittent match-winner for us. In an otherwise solid team he's a great luxury player and he's not a HBA type character who doesn't bother trying to help the rest of the team so he's not a full on luxury. He is putting himself in the shop window though, I'm not sure he sees himself as being here in future and that's fine. I would have him though. From the teams who go down though (provided one of them isn't us) there'll be some interesting players. Palace: Zaha, Townsend, Benteke, Sakho Stoke: Allen, Shaquiri, Shawcross Southampton: Tadic, Ward-Prowse, Romeu West Ham: Arnautovic, Hernandez, Antonio West Brom: Jonny Evans
You don't think Zaha, Shaquiri, Evans or Michel Antonio would improve our team? I don't think any of them would come to us of course but hey ho. There's a few young English players who could do a job with better management in a stable team (Ward-Prowse, Antonio, etc.) and unless he's declined in the last year or two Shawcross would walk into our back line. Alongside Lascelles I'd be pretty happy.
Zaha - too expensive Shaqiri - too similar to the wingers we already have Evans - will go to Man City/Arsenal/Chelski Michel Antonio - hell no! Sorry, used to watch him play for Sheff Wed and no, just no! Shawcross - we already have 3 just as good if not better centre backs Oh yes for Ward-Prowse and half of the Southampton team - maybe just chuck them all our cash for 5 of their players.
I would love to see our old mate Andros plying his trade in the Championship next season................. i'm not convinced too many teams will be clamouring for his signature this time around.
Needs to be a big hand to Charnley and Ashley too for getting the deals done. Lots of silly negativity driven by silly conspiracy theories. However in his hour of need, against a background of unsettling non serious takeover bids, Ashley backed his manager, and Charnley got the deals Rafa wanted done. Rafa too played his part in it, picking the right players, so as a management team, I think you have to give credit when it’s due. I have to say the fans have played their part too. The last two home games have been great for atmosphere. As usual the travelling support at Bournemouth second to none. When we focus and stay united we’re a much stronger club.
And Ashley backed Rafa how? The players are all on loan. Minimum fees involved in contrast to buying them and, therefore, minimal backing. Let’s all celebrate Ashley’s minimal backing for the manager.
