You've got to love Jol. In an interview today he said, âHeâs one of the best goalkeepers I have ever seen. The second goal [at Southampton] was probably not his fault.â Faint praise indeed. http://www.london24.com/sport/fulham/fulham_boss_believes_veteran_is_one_of_the_best_he_has_worked_with_1_1590616
Love the picture! One of the reasons Roy is held in such high regards at Fulham is the important transfers he made here. Schwarzer in my opinion was the best of a mixed bag, which includes Hangeland. MS has been a great servant for the club, when more fashionable clubs came calling, he decided to sign with us and that alone deserves commendation. It will be a sad day when he decides to hang up the gloves. We have truly been blessed in the PL with quality goalkeepers (VDS, Niemi, Schwarzer)
Cotagecravens, totally agree,in all my years watching Fulham Tony Warner in my opinion was the worst we ever had.
Should Schwarzer be Club Captain ? According to reports from Australia he has taken over the country's dressing room - http://www.sportal.com.au/football-news-display/neill,-schwarzer-lay-down-law-203380 Or is he getting in some pratice for a future managerial role ?
I'm sure Schwarzer already has similar influence in the dressing room. Keepers can, of course, make good captains but I always prefer to have an outfield player. Of the current squad, Duff would be my choice.
