Thanks for posting that Finney I am sure all the older lads who went to Rangers regularly knew her well She seemed to live for the club
Nice one Finney, I remember traveling to away games via the supporters club on the 'Specials' throughout the 80's. Daphne was like the QPR fans mum. She would be at the station giving out tickets and stamping your card and making sure everyone was ok. A very dedicated and special lady. RIP Daphne.
I can only emphasise what 9's says. Anyone who followed Rangers away in the 80's will remember Daphne very fondly. It's no exaggeration to say she was our adopted mum and got us out of trouble (we were young ok) many times. RIP Daphne, a sad day today for QPR FC
I remember Daphne very well, she worked tirelessly for the club & supporters. I was fortunate enough to share many a coach journey to away games with her, to say that she lived and breathed QPR would be a huge understatement. RIP Daphne, a true QPR legend.
Echo all comments on here. I used to go in the 80’s (87/88 was my best season) when I was just a young Ellers and rarely missed a game and Daphne was like my adopted mum. I used to ring up QPR for tickets and she would recognise my voice and use name, (Can you imagine that now)? I sat with Daphne quite a bit on the coach at the front and when we stopped off in those half way house pubs, she would always look after me. All I can say is that she was what QPR is all about/was/now. She was a special lady who was always there to help me/others out and I will never forget her kindness. RIP Special lady
