It´s good to see some back in from the cold That was the ´13 -´14 year, Players like Bennett E and Hoolahan, Who might, by now, not have been here, For one, a long term injury spell Put paid to any chance he had, While Wes´s face didn´t always seem to fit And there seemed nothing he could add, Garrido too, I´d almost forgotten Was still part of the first team squad, I never did understand just why he fell Out of favour, so quickly, it´s odd, Surman appears to have slotted back in As if he´d never been away, And Rudd as understudy to Ruddy Is as good as Bunn any day If we´re to believe those who seem in the know Then we´ll shortly be waving bye, To Hooper and Fer and Wolfswinkel too Who long for some pastures up high, Maybe the one and possibly two But I´m not at all sure all three, Will leave us just yet, despite interest From several clubs apparently, More likely in my very modest opinion That Olsson is a wanted man, And Bassong and Becchio both seem to me To have no part in Adams´s plan, And bearing in mind yesterday´s 5 - 1 win Was accomplished quite easily, Without any of the above mentioned six I see no need to feel queasy. Hi skald bor, interesting statement by board when NA was temporary appointed. He took disciplinary action with two players, no mention of who those players were but there were two noticeable absentees from the bench during our last few games in the PL. RvW I notice said he was pleased to be "home" in Norwich; must be content at Carrow Road. Fer recently married in Norwich, sounds like the Norfolk scenery reminds him of home, not much difference between the two but obviously one of the things he misses is cyclists riding the wrong way down a one-way street LOL. I'm liking NA's style of management. Hope he can keep it up and secure promotion; will be a feather in his cap even if he is only a radio presenter ! Should he equal PL's achievement then I for one will definitely be "smiling." He appears to have the "touch" to manage players and get results from them. Rex doing ok?
Evening NORKIE, We can only really judge Adams when the games start to mean something, but signs so far seem encouraging. Rex, as you can see from my avatar, is alive and well, - also just deciphered ´skald´, and ´ancient Scandinavian poet` seems very appropriate especially the ancient bit.
Skald is much better than Bard, IMHO RBF. Suggests an image of you high atop a mountain in a thunderstorm forging out these lyrics. Well done!
Mountain top is perhaps slightly far-fetched Rick, at least here in Denmark, but to a certain extent your image is accurate, as I often do my ´writing´ whilst out walking with the dog, and I always take pencil and a notepad with me when I go - bit like Mozart composing on the back of restaurant menus.
I know it's only been friendlies so far, but the team seems to have 'gelled' much better than they ever did under CH. The proof will hit all too quickly in 12 days time when we see how they perform against Wolves - I'm expecting a hard-fought match and I'll settle for a draw or even a defeat by the odd goal!! Great to see the likes of Surman back too and playing well.
I'm also impressed with the way Adams' has handled the pre-season so far. The re-integration of Wes, Surman and Elliot Bennett has worked well and will make a big difference once the season starts. The involvement of younger players has also been well handled as has giving Redmond a higher profile and role to play. Wolves will be the test, but IMO we'll be up for it!
