I've just broken down a woolly edge services south of Leeds. RAC on the way but could be 2hours. It's not looking good for making it to the game.
I would have said "flash ya legs and smile" but as it's Leeds they probably just want to shag you................
Taxi to Leeds-train to Durham-no. 20 bus to Sunderland-sorted. Its do-able, tight but do-able. Provided everything goes smoothly. It would be expensive too.
If you have the full AA membership, can't you blag them into saying you now live in Sunderland but forgot to notify them in time, least then they can put your motor on their vehicle, and get to the game that way. Hate for you to miss the game mate. I had similar, brokedown in Bristol few years back needing to get to Cornwall. Costly, fortunately not for football.
I am thinking if the RAC can't fix it, get it recovered to Merc in Sunderland will still be tight getting there in time. I hate this F'ing car!!!!!!! I've lost so much money now on missing work, hotel, fuel etc.... I am tempted to just jump in a taxi and hand the driver my wallet
Vegas, why not thumb it? As you're in a service station it should be easy to get a lift north. I'm not joking, it's probably by far the quickest option.
ah, similar predicament coming back from Edinburgh today, timing belt went on golf, only got 22k on it - luckily AA were there in 25 mins, car now in garage and I just off to Mill View Club, good luck marra.
I really hope you do get to the game mate, it's meant to be! You'll arrive just as Sunderland score the first of 4 goals.... Praying for you
the Rac will drop you or arrange a hire car for you free, give you a lift to pick up the replacement car, then take you auto to the garage of your choice. BELIEVE ME I KNOW IF YOU HAVE FULL COVER YOUR GUARANTEED HALF HOUR MAX CALL OUT TIME, OR MONEY IN LIEU
I made it, I was 10 mins late but am now in The Grange drowning my sorrows. You will not believe how I got here. The car is in Leeds getting a new Alternator. A Mag who was parked next to me at the services not only drove me from Leeds to Sunderland he dropped me off outside the East Stand. I will never say a bad word about mag supporters ever again. I was in my Sunderland shirt under the bonnet and he came over and offered me a lift. He followed the RAC van to a garage in Leeds then tool me the rest of the way. All I can say is he is a top bloke. Less said about the game the better, now I have to figure out the best way to get back to Leeds in the morning.
