I am guessing based on OLMs post this morning (90 days to the play off final) that the game is on the 12 th of May. So I am trying to put together some plans just in case we miss out on automatic promotion. Missed the final the last time around but am determined to go this time. Will be coming from the west coast of the USA. How long between the semi and the final? Will have to book a flight and get a ticket in that time Long time since I have been to a game and previously no rules re home and away supporters. How does the home and away supporter thing work when you buy a ticket. Surely on such an occasion you can be a neutral (not that I will be of course)? Is Wembley normally full for this type of game or can you just turn up and get a ticket? Sorry to post such a negative post.
Final game of the ordinary season is 29th April Playoff Final is 19th May. The semi-final first legs are usually played the weekend after the last game and are 5th vs 4th, and 6th vs 3rd. The semi-final second legs are then usually played midweek a few days later with the teams obviously reversed. The actual dates of these games are decided when they see who's playing who and they can work it out for fans and TV. Tickets for the away leg of the semis you'll be knackered for unless it's someone like Southampton in the midweek game as they'll go straight to season ticket holders. The home leg you've got a chance of getting, but it'll depend on attendances for the last few league games. They usually give priority to season ticket holders (obviously) and then people who've bought tickets for the last few league games. For the final you've no chance of a neutral seat unless you're paying corporate prices or buying from a tout. Each club though gets allocated about 35,000 tickets, which even if every season ticket holder took 2 from would leave some for general sale
It is indeed on the 19th, I just mentioned yesterday that we've now hit the 93 day limit on emergency loans, so anyone we loan now could stay until that date. It's not a problem getting a ticket in Club Wembley, they're normally £99, but it's worth it(not for the facilities, just for seeing City in the final).
OLM, do you know of any loans coming in that NB has purposely waited for in order for them to be available for the complete in and extended season if needed.
I've not heard of any targets at all since the Jan window closed, I think we'll stay as we are unless we pick up injuries, or we start dropping a lot of points due to not taking our chances up front.
I went through this last time living in Southwest USA. Day after the second Watford game contacted City and booked 4 Club Wembley tickets at 100 pounds each. Got round the normal rules on the basis I didn't want to spend $4000 on flights if I couldn't get tickets for the game. I booked flights once I had paid for the tickets. You have to work fast though...
We haven't finished many of the chances we created, but we just scored three in our last home game and drew away at the form side in the league in our last game and I'm suggesting we need to have a bigger problem than that before Nick will act.
You're probably bang on with that, but I don't think it can be overstated quite how many points we've thrown away simply due to finishing this season. What happened to the potential striker deals that we were looking at about a week ago?
We didnt even sell out Watford away for the play off semi away leg - quite a poor effort. I bet more claimed they were there!
You sure? It seemed full and I thought I remembered tickets only went to those with five away's booked through the club.
There were loads of empty seats That 5 aways thingy was a farce aswell - you only had to say you had been to 5 aways to get tickets for a game. I did a few aways that season and paid on the gate for most which meant I didnt qualify. Managed tickets for Ipswich and Watford without any fuss at all. Ipswich was a full away end but Watford wasnt
Greene thanks for the info. As OLM said a bit steep for an OAP, but worth it to see City win at Wembley!
I was in America for the Ipswich game and the first leg, but back for the 2nd leg. After I saw the first leg result I went and booked my train tickets so I could have the cheap ones, and the hotel room in London. I ended up in the Ibis next to the stadium, and I got the room for the normal night rate. If I'd waited until after the second leg it would have been more than twice as much because they charge more for "event nights". For some reason they didn't have the Playoff weekend classed as event nights until the fixtures had been confirmed. When Watford scored their goal I got a bit more nervous than normal having already set all that up.
I went and it was only my third away game of the season (don't judge me, I was at college so I had to rely on mummy and daddy's handouts). There were empty seats in front of me, and I recall seeing three mates of mine there - a Barnsley fan, an Arsenal fan and a Leeds fan - who had been to a grand total of one game between them that season.
not so sure about that. there were plenty of empty spaces at Watford last time around. sorry ... should have read the rest of the thread, someone else made the same observation already.
