This is Clive's Whittington's (Loft for Words) take on Swansea's football from the Boxing Day game "Good God Swansea like possession, but at times the experience of watching them play is similar to one you might have on a visit to the Tate Modern. âMarvellous darling, simply wonderfulâ people cry as they gaze upon this supposed art form â quite often though, Swansea are the footballing equivalent of an abstract painting of a hairy minge. Pointless, pretentious, dull." Looking forward to his take on last nights game.
Bit harsh 999, I always think Clive's articles make for a good read - solid analysis and an enjoyable writing style, usually with a fair few amusing comments to boot. What's not to like?
A bit of that Woody, yes indeed. A bearskin hat downstairs is no way to welcome a new guest. I don't think it's fair to criticize other teams style of play, especially with the season we're having. What Swansea have done this season is impressive, their style of play made us edgy for much of the first half and it becomes very frustrating when you can't get the ball back off them. I'd rather watch that, then the way say, Blackburn or WBA played when they came to HQ.
Can't agree nines. If Rangers played the way Swansea did last night I would struggle to renew my season ticket. They were awful!!!
Don't we all. As I've said before, Clive is a great writer and is obviously a very intelligent lad but he does like the sound of his own voice. A proper reporter keeps it concise and engaging. We don't want to know what he paid for his pie or how many people were on his train. Just the facts please M'aam.
Woody that is the funniest comment I've seen on here in absolutely ages. A "double entendre" to end all "double entendre." The original analogy got me chuckling, Eamon got me laughing and Woody slammed it home. Ah...Ive calmed down.
