" BREAKING. Spurs have completed the loan signing of Adebayor"

Well it's a start, even if The Mirror are massive WUMs.

Also there's a picture of Benny and Adebayor hanging out.

Yeah, the Diarra signing would've been preffered as Adebayor can't play against City anyway but if we do complete the signing tomorrow I'll be delighted.

Tottenham have sealed the loan signing of Emmanuel Adebayor from Manchester City - after a last-ditch bid to hijack the move by Inter Milan.

The striker, however, will not be allowed to play against his parent club when Spurs entertain City on Sunday.

Adebayor, 27, will have a medical in London on Wednesday after Tottenham agreed to fund a larger share of his £170,000-a-week wages then first suggested.

The deal had stalled because of the £25million ex-Arsenal striker's reluctance to take a drop in salary after being axed from the first team by City boss Roberto Mancini.

The frontman is also keen for Spurs to prove their ambition in the transfer market, with Chelsea-target midfield star Luka Modric's future looking increasingly uncertain.

It was Inter's 11th-hour attempt to take the player on loan that forced Tottenham to bite the bullet and avoid letting Adebayor, who was loaned out to Real Madrid last season, slip through their fingers.

Meanwhile, City have insisted Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri is likely to be their final signing of the summer, despite rumours of a dramatic late move for West Ham's Scott Parker.

The Sun is carrying the same story. However, I can't find any mention, so far, from a "reliable" source.

The Mirror article also says that he will only sign if we get Diarra.
