Derek would take Nicky out for a beer later today and the follwing words would be uttered by Nicky.

'Look boss I can understand why some of the supporters are upset at my stance of wanting to play in the Prem but I now realise that that may not happen this season so I'm prepared to compromise.
I will sign a new 2 year contract complete with a getout clause that will allow me to talk to Prem clubs this summer. If that doesn't happen I still want the opportunity to move if and when a club of my choice comes in for me.

I think this a potential win win situation for both of us and the supporters and it is a way of expressing my thanks to both club and fans for the way in which they have treated me during a very difficult time.

I have nothing but respect for this club and my revised stance is indicative of my appreciation for all concerned"

OOPS. In a perfect world remember.

It won't be any of that.

You won't hear a peep from Maynard. He has his new Everton contract under his bed, waiting for the season to end before he signs it.
The only way he won't is if a 'big 5' club wades in - which they won't.
I admit I am a bit disappointed with Moyes as an ex city player, but hey ho its business and everything is fair in business apart from the HMRC!
Moyes has probably told him he will get more wages if he joins them on a free.

    Exactly Red and White.
We are now at the business end of Maynard's 5 year plan, and the decisions were made years ago by NM himself

    NM the super-genius.

No, people. We've reached this point because he's a silly lad.

Silly why ? He wants to play in the Prem and to earn more money. In his position I would be exactly the same.
He's done nothing wrong except exercise his rights.

The club are the only ones to blame for not making his name available to all and sundry when he didn't sign a contract extension with a year to go on it.

The grass is always meant to be greener over there, wherever there is. Nicky is like most other players who start off at the interview with mum on hand and then reads the ridiculous salaries for other non-performers and decides that they want some of that stuff.

Greed is a motivating factor in all these decisions and if after a lengthy period, probably a month or so, they decide to check out another club then the rules will change. After all they have given their best and thumped the badge but it's time to tear up the contract and move on. During this time they will say they aren't getting enough playing time and the other players don't make their role any easier.

Now my sarcasm could go on all day but I am hoping that this is a special day for BCFC in that we will finally get rid of this piece of snot that's been getting up our noses for far too long. B****R OFF NICKY!
