ten years ago you wouldnt have really thought leeds would fall out of the top flight and then even worse into the third tier of football

so i was thinking about what will have happened in the world of football in ten years time

what BIG club do you think will fall from grace? What club will dominate english football

I reckon chelsea are probably the most likely to fall from grace... Roman Abromovich will get bored with his toy and leave which will put huge wages that they will struggle to pay. although saying this, the new wage caps and things that are trying to be put into place may never allow a big club to do the same thing ever again and might reinforce the top four rather than make it more competitive

As for who will dominate english football, i reckon it will either be Manchester City or Arsenal, When ferguson retires i think Manure will struggle to replace him and drop off to about 4th or 5th for a few years but cannot see a massive slump coming. I also think when wenger goes arsenal will become better than they currently are. This is ofcourse if leeds are not the best team in the world by then though

I don't think it will be Chelsea, yes if it were 4-5 years ago but now their fan base is massive. Like Man U and Liverpool, they are all building such a massive world-wide following, they all tour pre-season in emerging countries raking in the extra shirt sales and interest.

I would not want to be an Arsenal supporter right now, I feel they could be a team that avoid relegation but linger outside the top 5 more times than not and who will have very little silverware over the next 10 years. It looks like they are set to lose 2 star players and what message will that send out to targets that they might be chasing?

Manchester City is a team who would collapse like dominoes should their backers pull out...

The trouble with the financial fair play rules is that the top clubs are already trying to work out how to get round them. Cue Man City's ludicrous stadium naming fee from the sponsor who is funded by the club's owner. But it's true, the clubs most likely to implode are the ones with billionaire backers who get bored. Without Abramovich, Chelsea would settle back into mid-table. Also, most clubs are spending all their Sky money but there's moves afoot to break up the TV rights into smaller packages. If Sky gets fewer rights and loses paying subscribers as a result, the money they offer will dramatically reduce and that will affect all the Premiership clubs. As it is, Sky TV money and billionaires bankrolling a minority of clubs have completely ruined and distorted the English game at the top level.
