http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/11479816.Saints_keen_on_stadium_expansion/?ref=fbpg Article from Echo about further improvements at the training ground and stadium. Mentions possible stadium expansion, but don't get too excited yet...needs to keep selling out and even then mentions the massive cost. Training ground for the first team is complete, but further improvements in classrooms and a dome over a 3G pitch planned. The Echo seem to be stretching out an interview at the Southampton Boat Show...so I thought I might as well join them
Mea culpe...have just noticed the average gate has gone down by one. I hang my head in shame that a stadium expansion is being denied to the rest of you by my absence.
I could see it going horribly wrong if we expanded our stadium in the next few years. It would have to be sell outs 9 times out of 10 for a few years at least.
I can't see why we can't have a staduim expansion so we can bigger seats. A cup holder too would be handy plus a cushion?
I don't think Saints have got a problem with their corporate facilities, its just what they charge for them that means they only sell out 5 times a season. Spending more money in that area would be pointless. Think the suites have had at least 3 revamps since the stadium opened. Drop ticket prices for regular fans to fill the stadium every home game, that should be the priority.
Yeah. Gate money is a pretty small fraction of total turnover these days. Pretty easy to account for the loss.
