Don't think we'll be getting Mackail-Smith just yet then. Allegedly our offer was in the area of ã3 million , but young Dazza Fergie has said we need to improve our bid, "Their offer was no where near good enough" he is quoted as saying on the Pink'un. Now, I know the guy looks like one of, if not, the best striker(s) in League One, but surely ã3 million is already a bit steep for transfer from League One! Personally, I don't think Lambert will make an improved offer, not yet at least... It's just too much money, to me it sounds like Fergie wants ã4-5 million. Maybe we can get him in the summer, I mean, by the looks of things, he actually wants to play for us, and we may have a lot of money to play with . Transfer request might maybe bring him here sooner? I'm not sure if he has handed one in already, or even if he can when the window isn't open. Can anyone enlighten me?
He is expected to leave in the summer, when more than one club will submit bids, he stated a while ago that he would not sign another contract, (his current one expiring after one more season) you under value him at your peril.
cms is brilliant he would definatly do the job for you, just look at how many goals he has scored also the good point is, that he seems to do this each and every season. I think he is definatly worth 5 million as I think he would do the job in the Premiership for you so he is worth a big offer.
Think the club could offer 3.5m - 4m + add ons for things such as appearances, if Norwich stay up in the premiership, etc. 5m is too much for a league one striker no matter how good they are, If he is worth 5m, how much is Holt worth?
Peterborough chairman did a radio interview and said Norwich offered 1.5m straight up with 1m in add ons and were 0.5m short. They wanted 2m with 1m in add-ons (Total 3m). Think the two clubs should try and negotiate as the player wants to come to Norwich and it would be unfair if Peterborough denied him the chance of coming and improving himself, remember we were amicable when they wanted Joe Lewis.
I think Barry Fry is just trying it on, hopefully we will get him soon. If we are in the premier league we can buy better players anyway. If the player just stays put he can leave on a bosman an get one last pay day at the end of next season. .
