All site members, I have had to release some sticky threads to put up an announcement from the site owner: So the good news is that Newsnow.co.uk have agreed to start publishing our content in, literally, the next few days. Some of the articles which have been promoted from the forums in the last few weeks have been superb. The Liverpool board in particular have been great, well written, good grammar and no spelling mistakes. The horse racing content has been great too - but spelling and grammar need worked on.. To start they want to publish the best user generated content, the opinion and the blogs from the forums which is well written (and has good punctuation etc) - hence my hint at trying to make sure we only promote well written and laid out content. IF the content is good, but needs a bit of fixing then please feel free to fix the mistakes (and lack of paragraphs etc). As part of this process I've disabled moderators from being able to 'publish' articles, you can promote posts and threads to full blown Articles, you just can't publish them live anymore. The reason I've done this is because we've had some bad content published, with spelling errors, bad grammar and no paragraphs etc. From now on we are going to need to check the content thoroughly and make sure it passes at least a basic English test. So when promoting a thread from the forums (which is good) please can you check it for obvious grammatical errors, also I've set up a new 'Opinion & Analysis' section in the Articles page, can you please promote the user generated content to that section instead of the normal sports categories, so we seperate the good user generated stuff from the 'News Team' updates. Only stuff which is promoted to the 'Opinion & Analysis' section will appear on Newsnow. One last thing, I'm looking for moderators to put themselves forward as 'spelling police' - in that I will give a few of you permissions to choose what content actually gets published (after other moderators have promoted and created the article). It's important in that once you push that publish button you are going to get thousands of outsiders instantly reading the content. We need to make sure it's good, that it advertises the site as somewhere you'd like to stay and debate. Anyone who wants these permissions please let me know. I would like to take the opportunity to add something to these comments: Recently the not606 News Team published an article on our board, please remember when commenting on these articles, the author is paid by the site owner to assist in promoting this site to places such as newsnow - therefore careful consideration (self moderation) what ever your opinion is required when adding comments to such articles. thanks brb
