I think kenny should walk now TBH. Hes a legend in his own right, but just not up to the task. I think if poss we should get a manager now so they can asses the squad and see who they would need to ship out and bring in. I would have rafa on a short term deal and take it from there. DR.
I don't see the sense of getting rid of the manager with only 1.5 months left of the season and I would like to give him one more season. However, I think we're at the point where he has lost the dressing room and morale is gone. And it's very hard to get this back ...
I shouldnt get another season, nither should comolli. we will have limited money avalible and can we trust them to spend wisely?
Thing is - we don't know who is responsible for the signings. I get the sense that Kenny was the one pushing for the British targets. I'm not sure how much say Commolli has in the final decision but I believe Kenny is the main man (this is just speculation of course).
Yh i seems kenny is traditional with his signings, rumour is commolli wanted young and kenny wanted downing... which says a lot really.
I'm not sure that Young would have wanted to come to us anyways so I can understand the Downing signing. On paper - the signings made sense (bar Carroll) On the pitch - they haven't worked as well as they should have. Perhaps they need more time? Carroll, Henderson, Adam, Downing, Enrique is a big chunk of our first team and they all come from smaller clubs so it takes time to get used to the big club mentality and winning culture. Enrique replaced Aurelio who enjoyed success at Valencia and Liverpool Adam replaced Meireles who won leagues with Porto Henderson replaced Kuyt who (like Aurelio) is used to top 4 finish with Liverpool and plays for one of the best national sides in the world. Carroll replaced Torres who is one of the best strikers we saw at Anfield.
im not saying that, im talking style of player. and i dont buy that winning club stuff. every player that has made it in the game of pro football has a winning mentality, thats how they are were they are.
I disagree - when you win trophies or play within a good team etc, you raise your expectations and you want more. The players I mentioned don't have that experience (bar the recent Carling Cup victory). I'm not saying that every player in a smaller team will not make it at Liverpool but we made a larger number of transfers and shifted them straight into the team so the dynamics change. From having first teamers who have won leagues in their national countries, played Champions League and International football to a few British lads who's greatest achievement is probably just scoring a screamer in one paritcular match.
I think some fans should walk now. They're not legends and not up to the task. We have to cut out this dead wood that's bringing us down. In my opinion.
With the Players you have available, you are performing ok. You have a trophy, are going well in the FA Cup, have qualified for Europe next year, and 6th in the Prem is about par for the course. I see no reason to replace Kenny
Where do these mancs get off? here we are having a family time, soul-searching and ranting and they have to come in with their two pennyworth!! They've evn got the cross thread back for that Afternoon Eric
Our signings are not to blame. I think that generally he done well with transfers. But I do think he has issues with favouritism when it comes to team selection. Mainly Henderson and Adam. I dont think many people would put Henderson as first choice RM. With Adam I think its the scottish thing.
