Imagine you are a 16 year old footballer in the Arsenal youth team. Imagine that Real Madrid approach to sign you and you accept. Imagine that 7 years down the line, Arsenal are the best team in the World (rather than 2nd best now) and they want to sign you back.... Your mates who you grew up with since 7 years old are at Arsenal. Your family is in London. You'll get paid shed loads more. You've always loved the club. What do you do? Even though Real Madrid have developed you, you love Real and their fans and the city and you know you aren't Arsenals 1st choice signing and may not make the team every week.
Tbh spending time with people from 16-24 is more of an important part of your life than 7-16 and you develop and grow up alot more. I think this he was there as a kid stuff is ridiculous - yes you can think back to fond days but the people who are gonna be your mates are people you talk and spend time with regularly which would of been at Arsenal. Personaly though i understand the fact he supports Barca and if i was a footballer playing at Barca and Arsenal wanted me i'd be gone in a second (provided i would be getting game time). hink the lad is in a difficult position, but think he will stay another couple of seasons and lead us to some silverware before he goes. And think this is what he hopes will happen as well. He is clearly not desperate to leave as the papers would have you believe though.
Is buying the nandos conditional on being a 16 yr old boy playing for Real Madrid? If not then i'd love a nandos...
But my heart is with Arsenal right? Then again I've been watching Rick Stein and have fallen for Spanish food.....
If I had the choice to be a good professional footballer but had to play for tottenham my whole career I would choose to play for tottenham in a heartbeat.
