    It's Puyol, not Pique :)
    It's a very old article.

I remember all the rumours about how Barca planned on making a Xavi + cash bid for Cesc in Summer 08. Then Pep took over and turned Xavi into the player he is today!

"With Gary Neville and Wes Brown injured, Ferguson is even more stretched and has also been linked with a move for Ajax full-back Hatem Trabelsi."

<laugh> What ever happened to that guy? We were linked with him for years.

    Found on Wiki <laugh>

"During the pre season of 2004, Hatem was given a trial period at Arsenal F.C. by Arsène Wenger. Seemingly, Hatem impressed the Gunners and a fee between Ajax and the English champions was agreed. With the transfer looking imminent, even Pro Evolution Soccer 4 for gaming consoles included Trabelsi in the Arsenal roster. However, due to personal reasons Trabelsi never fully signed with Arsenal and soon returned home to Ajax."

He actually played for Arsenal on one of the old PRo Evo games, so convinced were they that it was a a done deal at the time.

He scored against us for City in a 3-1 win for United at OT in the Autumn of 2006. Decent goal as well, bit like one of Nani's. Cut in from the right, onto his left foot and smashed it past van der Sar.
