His career is on the line in the next few matches. And I don't just mean his job at Norwich, I mean his whole managerial career.

If we go down, he has failed at the perfect opportunity to show that he can be a top manager. We were the ideal club for him. No way we were going to do a Newcastle and sack him for no reason. Then he had that dream run of ten matches which more or less guaranteed us safety (we thought). He really could not have asked for more. And he's very close to blowing it all. I doubt if he'll get another chance if he does.

I wonder how he'll react to this. Will he wonder what he has done wrong to do the opposite of Midas and turn gold into base metal, and grow as a manager as a result of this season's struggles, or will he tell himself the players he inherited just weren't up to it?

    Calmly.

I'm calling the end of the season by the way. We'll stay up and all summer all you'll hear, even as we purchase high quality players is "waaa lets get rid of Hughton waaaa"

When I re-read my original post, it seems a little too negative. I didn't mean to imply that Hughton has no good qualities. Just the opposite, in fact - if he can learn from the problems and mistakes this season perhaps he still has the makings of an excellent manager.

On the other hand, Beefy, even you must admit he doesn't have much credit left in the bank. People will be worried about next season if we survive, and in my opinion justifiably so.

I think there are fans that want to give Chris Hughton a chance to build a team, particularly with his record on signings, and those that want Martin oneill.

I know which group I'm in

if you check his record at Newcastle, his win % was 55.7, which is a very good statistic. this was with his own team and certainly implies that his intent is to attack, so long as he has the ammo to do this with. we may be pleasantly surprised next season when he has finished his summer shopping. we will still be a PL outfit, by the way.

That is 55.7% win ratio is mostly with basically a premiership team in the championship. even my Col who Mike could have got stats like that.

I must admit that I have been disappointed with the brand of football this season, for the most part it has been boring and negative.

However, I am willing to see what team Hughton can build with a good amount of cash behind him. I know that we had to pay our debts off this year and there was not a load to spend and it was difficult to splash the cash in January as it's easy to panic buy (see Becchio).

I like Hughton as a bloke and I want him to do well I really do and I am willing to wait and see what he can do next year with his own team.

I've been amazed how often his name has come up. The other one is dimatteo.

Roberto dimatteo... Who won the champions league with Chelsea... Coming to Norwich...

On a side note, has anyone else noticed that Grant Holt has disappeared from twitter again?

He quit. I can only see this as a good thing. Some of the mentions he was getting about his family and the slating from our own fans was not healthy.

Totally agree Beef, what the hell is going on with some of our fans.

At the end of the day he is a working guy making a living and doing what is best for his family! what gives the right to people to abuse him for it. ****ers.

It's a shame though for normal fans who liked the insight into a footballers life.

hughton's remit was to keep us up this season - given we were bookies favourites and all the turmoil last summer, if he achieves it then well done to him, no matter the style and the 10 game unbeaten run. i'm feeling more confident today that he'll achieve it.

Before you talk about us getting relegated, I would like to say that only Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea have beaten us at Carrow Road, so fingers crossed we will get that much needed win against Reading on Saturday and put it all to bed!

I think if I was CH right now I would plot my points achievable and go forward as follows
Reading - go for the three points
Villa - ensure we do not lose
WBA - see what we need having played the other home games above

Stoke - ensure we do not lose
Man City - assume no return

The key to the next phase though is to win on Saturday and go out with the attitude that a draw is no good. This summary looks negative on paper but that answers your question Vietnam and I believe it is somewhat indicative of the way CH thinks I reckon. I hate to mention PL because it is irrelevant but he would probably look to win all of our games but Man City away and his attitude will reflect on how Villa play. He will come to CR to win and that is a dangerous game for us.

Some so called supporters want f*****g well shooting! I don't give **** how many goals he's scored or missed this season, his work rate has been phenomenal as always. He leads our team with passion and commitment and doesn't deserve ANY critisim for playing the lone striker roll, he's taken that for the team this season! He is and will always be a legend to our REAL supporters!
IGNORE THE MORONS GRANT THE TRUE LOYAL FANS STILL LOVE YOU!
