Daniel Sturridge may be one of the most in-form strikers in world football right now - but he's not about to rest on his laurels. please log in to view this image The striker's stunning lob against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday was his 10th goal of the season so far - and his 21st in just 27 appearances for Liverpool since moving to Anfield from Chelsea in January. Nevertheless, in a message that will no doubt send shivers down the spines of Barclays Premier League defenders across the land, Sturridge insists he won't be getting complacent as he strives to become even better. "I don't want to get comfortable," he told SI.com. "I actually get very uncomfortable when I'm comfortable. "I hate complacency. I'm not happy with just having good numbers; I'm not content when I know there's more to accomplish." He added: "I am very critical of myself, so I'll watch a game and think, 'I didn't do very well over there.' My dad is the same. He's my biggest fan and critic, so he'll watch videos and pick out stuff, which annoys me to be honest, but I have to take it on board so I can become a better player. "I come from a family that is crazy about football, with my uncles as well, so there is always advice and tips that's available for me. "When I was a kid, I would always score a goal a game or more. It would never be less goals than games. "Obviously it's not the same when you're in the first team of a big club. It is much more difficult, but that's the aim to try and get it as close as possible. I know what I can do, and I have to make sure I'm competing against myself and pushing as hard as I can." Sturridge wasted no time in making an instant impact after making the switch to Merseyside at the start of the year, setting the tone for his Liverpool career so far by finding the back of the net in each of his first three games. The 24-year-old cites the faith shown in him by the club and manager Brendan Rodgers as a key factor behind his outstanding goal record for the Reds. "I feel so happy here, I feel at home, because the club have been really good to me," said Sturridge. "I want to leave everything on the field for them because they've given me the platform to play my natural game and just enjoy myself again." http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/147975-i-m-uncomfortable-being-comfortable
Sturridge (24), Coutinho (21), Henderson (23), Sakho (23), Mignolet (25) ... Young, talented spine of our team for years to come ...
I think he is good however that is no excuse for that silly celebration. I feel like punching him after I have stopped cringing at him.
Im not keen on the celebration either and also find it very cringey but it means he's scored so I dont give a ****!
His goal on Saturday was sublime, his and Suarez' second were definitely the best goals scored on Saturday. Hope he keeps his dancing tbh
Yeah we've got free sat so I get that channel free. Think it was on at 6 lastnight but we were out I'll caatch it, all great goals and a good performance (I listened live on radio) so def want to see.
I was made up when we signed him, I really thought he was what we needed someone who is direct and frankly greedy but he is a much better player than I ever thought he was.
Me with the Ford too, I fell into the trap of why dont Inter want him and why cant he get into their side im afraid. Again, happy to be proven wrong! from that Jan I vowed to trust whatever signings they go for and have faith Then they give us Aspas Joking, hopefully he'll come good
Think Aspas just needs time. Maybe we could see how well Borini does on his loan and if he does we'll consider sending Aspas out too. Think it'll do him the world of good.
Yeah maybe, cant rem how long Aspas is injured for Looks like we will be getting new recruits in Jan as well
