I am now sick and tired of the new management at the club and I have given myself 24 hours before posting this.

To delay the home fans by 25 minutes plus to enable the Wall fans to get home on time is just a **** decision... I don't care if it was the Met who wanted this course of action, the Club should have stood up for their fans and said NO the Wall fans should be the ones who wait NOT the home fans! That's what happens at the New Den!!!!!!!

So Network SE have laid on extra trains to take home some of the 3,000 Wall fans and those of the 18,000 Charlton fans who come by trains have to use the normal service.

This season we are being sold **** pies probably because the club gets a better margin (both myself and brother have stopped buying them now), the stewards have obviously been told that the home fans are runts (especially Red Division) and to persecute them whenever possible and we are now being told that away fans are more important to the Club than home fans... after all they pay to come to the Valley ONCE A SEASON rather than the 24ish that the home fans do.

I wonder if the owners know what their management are doing because Prothero seems to be a fecking nightmare, please bring back Stevie W...... at least he stood up for the fans! The only person standing up for the fans now seems to be the Good Doctor.

I have decided that I will NOT be going to the game today and I will NOT be renewing my season ticket.

We are all customers of the Club and I expect us to be treated that way rather than being treated as a liability.

    <cheers>

I blame the Met more for this ludicrous decision, completely unprecedented in my experience. Their policing at Palace was disgraceful from what we've been told, they don't like being criticised for it, and have decided to punish Charlton fans in this way. The Met are a bloody awful police force, they have shown time and again that they believe they are a law unto themselves.

Saw this late last night and to be honest, I've been too shocked and disgusted to post.

OTT, back to the seventies policing - wonder if they've been speaking to the squad that policed the Palace game, the tactics look as stupid.

Must admit I'm sitting here looking at the rain wondering whether I can be arsed. Can't work out if this is the met or the club or both but whichever way it doesn't bide well for future years. Another nail in the coffin of my season ticket.

On another note, I gather that potential investors have been at the club this week and will be at the game today. It must be true its on CL. Err, good game to pick to showcase our product!

When I read it yesterday I couldn't believe it. I've never ever heard of home fans being kept back to let the away fans out.

Where do they think Charlton fans and Millwall fans live? Every time I go to the Valley, I get the train back to LB. Full of Charlton fans. I went to and from Palace home match surrounded by both home and away fans, no problem. I would've thought plenty of Millwall fans will be getting Kent-bound trains home.

Will this stupid measure be repeated when Leeds come dahn our grahnd? I also think it's the Met, but understand the frustration at the club allowing the Met to walk all over home fans. Police 'services' in this country leave a lot to be desired.

Do the club have any say in the choice of pies? I thought a company held the contract and they could decide what to provide. I know that doesn't absolve the club completely.

If the Met get away with it for this game then expect it to be repeated again with the fans being told at the last minute!

The pies were Pukka Pies last season this season they have changed to some 'tin pot' outfit who make ****e food!

So glad i am not the only one becoming seriously disgruntled with the club. I love Charlton, but this has taken the piss. I was considering renewing my season ticket in payments spread out to lighten the level of skintness, but this is a sharp slap to the chops that reminds me i am not valued as a supporter. How dare the board not put their foot down on this, i could go off on one about this because it really has wound me up but the language i would spout would not make for a pretty read. The club needs money, so lets p*ss off all the fans and seriously damage season ticket sales, great business plan that

Looks like you made a decent call, AllHell. No way will it only be 25 minutes. An hour minimum.

And if any trouble happens because of the ridiculous arrangements, the police will use it as proof that more of this nonsense is required

Whoever at the club agreed the decision to police Charlton fans at the end of Harvey Gardens with police horses should do the decent thing and resign.

    Absolutely bloody disgusting.

you must have been at a different ground. millwall fans only sang when they went in front. during the first half the Charlton fans did the "shhhhh" thing about 20 times cos we couldn't hear you. must be a change in the guard down at millwall, fans don't seem to be as loud as they used to be, or as many of them as there used to be. changing times...

bad really, leaving a derby with millwall and being more upset about the kettling after the game than worried about the timid lions - kinda got used to the area being tense after a game.

I spoke to a copper about this after the game and he said damaged limitations easier to get the scum away first and then get the normal people to leave... It's wrong tho he did have a point.
I was on the train from london bridge with a group of 15 year old Millwall fans pissed n being abusive drinking beer ... Definately Jeremy Kyle fodder without a doubt

The game is best forgotten, I am convinced the poor pitch has a lot to do with it. The way the home fans were treated should not be forgotten and needs to be looked at. The police basicly blocked the home fans from EVERY route away from the ground other than up to Charlton Village on the east side of the valley. Why? If someone at the met can explain how stoping me and thousands others getting home without going near the "risk point" of the station I might be a little more understanding. And were police with riot gear not a little OTT. I do hope the met are not going to bill the club, if they do I trust the club will send the bill back, I am sure Charlton Football Club never asked or wanted the heavy handed police state at our match.

Like others on here i am seriously considering my season ticket. the policing was an absolute disgrace, riot squad vehicles blocking fans from going home, helicopter surveillance and the lads in riot gear marching around the ground during the game. Not the family friendly club that i have supported for all these years. Is this the over reaction to the childish red division. I dont know but if the club allowedtheir genuine long time supporters tob treated like this then they owe us an apology. In any event they owe us an explanation.

By adopting this sort of behaviour the police are in grave danger of undoing the good work of thelast twenty five years and limiting football support to the idiots. By allowing it to haapen the Charlton management are in grave danger of returning the support to the levels of the bad old days.

Angry - im bloody fuming and not just because i was made late for something i had planned to do after the game.
