Its all about refs favouring top clubs and its all about money, its absolutely ridiculous. We have lost all respect for the FA cup, the europa cup and we only talk about finishing in the top 10 because of the 1.5 million we get per position we finish above the relegation zone. Money is wrecking the sport I love. If this is what its going to be like give me the championship anyday.
I doubt you will get many arguments from fans of teams in the lower half of the league. It really is all about the top 4/6 now, and it's bloody awful
Its so disheartening, ive really enjoyed this season as a stoke fan but as the season comes to a close all oeople seem to talk about is how much money we will get from finishing 10th, rather than the actual achievement. You build a squad on funds available rather than the managers ability anf yet its always the managers who gets the sack if results arent acceptable. In other words id love to see what Alex Ferguson could do at a team like stoke. Im sorry if this post seems depressing lads im just trying to explain how im losing faith in premiership football and not football in general.
No apologies needed Ricc. If you look at.some of my (hopefully) more sensible posts over the years I have been saying exactly the same thing, you just forgot to mention the instigators behind it all SKY and now BBC Sports (whatever its called). You may know that I am a unashamed Rugby man, I popped along to my local club yesterday, South Midlands Division 2. About 150 people there, nice cosy club house, pint of Bombadier £2.20. The players pay a £5 sub per week to play, the club runs 4 teams every week as well as an under 15 and an under 10 touch Rugby team. Admission £2 includes a team sheet. Vice Presidency is £60 per year and includes a free pint each home game (16 per season plus cups etc) After the game the players HAVE to come into the bar wearing blazers collars and club ties. Sometimes the Ref pops in!!! Proper old fashioned values, in the summer they run 2 cricket teams. What's not to like?? Compare this to the Prem!
