Can't remember the last time I was so underwhelmed at the eve of a new season.

Maybe it's been the great summer of sport. EURO's had some great games, the Olympics were fantastic and it seems too soon to start.

Maybe it's the lack of signings? Had you told me 6 weeks ago we would on have 2 players in and who they were I'd have laughed...........well I'm not laughing now.

Here's hoping the lads can turn it on and we can get something from Arsenal.

Before anyone tells me to give my head a shake. If you had been told who we would have for the start of the season you are a liar if you claim you would have been happy.

Now I'm not doom and gloom, I don't think we will be relegated. I'm just not excited.

Relieved that Saha is in and might play a part on Saturday.

The way business has gone this summer the season starts in September for me and until then it's warm ups.

    Don't agree at all.

This same team played Arsenal last year when they were stronger and we were weaker (we couldn't play Bendtner) and narrowly lost to a Henry goal in the dying seconds home and a late RVP special in the league down there, but beat them in the cup.

They don't have either RVP or Henry now and we have a proper striker.

I can't wait for the game tbh and its been a long time since I felt as good. Of course I would have preferred to have another 3 or 4 new faces of the likes of a Johnson, Fletcher, McGeady, N'Zonzi and the likes but this same set of players performed very well against Arsenal last season so why the pessimism? Haway lads man, its a new season and everyone starts equal again Saturday.

Saha to score on his debut? Weyaye man. Lol

I'm not that worried about this season to be honest.
We were never going to be challenging top 4.
But even as things stand we are more than capable of mid table.

Do I wish we had got some marquee signings?
    Of course.

I still don't understand why we still haven't got a proper LB.
    FFS!
Just get in a water carrier who knows his job, we don't expect the next Cashley Cole.

I too was worried until I read cests post! You're far too positive Cest, you're killing my pessimistic way of life....**** it, I'm doing the lottery tomorrow...still what's the point...it's not even a roll over!

We do have the nucleus of a decent team. Just a couple of touches of class then everything will be a ll gravy. Haway mon, haway the lads!! 3-1 Sunderland. Saha 2. McLean 1. Offside goal given for a arsenal beach ball.
