Just gauging reaction on these boards and Twitter and it seems that the whole world and his dog has gone into overdrive about Zamora, Mbia and Taarabt. That's football. Split second decisions analysed in super slow mo. The moment had gone sooner than reading this word! So yes, I'm thoroughly suffocated by the result and I'd have loved it if Zammo hadn't, Mbia wasn't so, and Taarabt had. But it won't change a thing. There ends my sermon. Peace to all on earth.
Don't take any notice of Twitter. Tarbs does deserve blame for having an awful few minutes - this is why he didn't start!
That's football - only us at QPR could have written a script like that. We are truly cursed. Mackie should have been smarter holding the ball up at the other end (into the corner) to waste time instead of being a raging bull with his blinkers on charging towards goal. Mbia shouldn't have given way that cheap free kick, Taarabt shouldn't have ducked (Samba should have been on the end of that wall) and Cesar should have been more to the left of his goal (he almost palmed that shot away).
Back home and numb to my core Saw a great goal and a dreadful Wigan side I could never slag my team off and it's all knee jerk through the despair Haven't felt this low Even my son on his first match is feeling sick But today it was great to stand up as we did and love our rangers
It was obvious where the kicks were going, I called them both right and I think Cesar was too far over. His body language coming out at ht was very poor. Time to start green if he's going to be next years goalie. Wigan were awful. Playing for a 0-0 when they had a man advantage for seventy mins. No wonder they don't have any away fans, they are the Fulham of the north. For me its resignation, we have mastered the art of falling one goal short in every game and finding different ways to implode, Cesar against villa, samba against fulham and Zamora against Wigan.
This may not be the most eloquent statement, it might also be painfully obvious, but **** me being an R's supporter is bloody hard work. I also think M'bia seems like a decent bloke who cares. It is a great shame he's such a cart horse, but overall I think he does more good than harm. I am more disappointed in Hoilett who seems generally anonymous to me.
I think Hoilett was very poor to start with today - didn't seem to have any positional sense or to want to run or tackle. Eventually had a couple of good runs, but really hasn't performed this season Andros T on the other hand was fantastic today - if only he'd been here back in August
Someone else summed it up as the anti-midas touch and it's a great metaphor. Even when we won the Championship, we couldn't celebrate. Watching today's match (and countless others this season) reminded me of watching Tom & Jerry as a kid; just when I thought the cocky little mouse was going to get his comeuppance and the beleaguered cat would come out on top, it all goes wrong.
Does it honestly matter who's to blame for today? We've made many much bigger mistakes over the course of the season, like allowing Mark Hughes to be a manager, that have condemned us to relegation
Had to watch the live text commentary in middle of night on my iPhone as in New Zealand on holiday. Totally gutted but oddly calm now. Time to start thinking about cutting loose the dead weight and properly planning for next season. We can come back stronger. Hope HR has the stomach for it. Hughes did for us, time to regroup and look to the future.
No no no We will still do it until the maths is proven I am not giving up never never never Do not blame them love them I spoke to my steward mate all match who is a Chelsea fan! ... Even he is gutted but as it says it is not over yet We go again Everton
When it seemed to matter that much, we called Taarabt 'le sulk'. Tell you what, he ain't a patch on me these last two years! Never known anything like such a run of bad results and dismal weekends given all the millions spent and big names in.
Just back after a nice meal with the shopping half of the family in Westfield, and the increasingly long drive up the M40. Gut wrenching way to lose 2 points, after what I thought was a good performance from 10 men for the majority of the game, and a wonderful goal. Not going to slag off individuals, but its obvious that Samba and Hoilett have no confidence at all at the moment. For the life of me don't know why Ned doesn't start every game, Townsend again always threatening, Remy is the real deal up front, but Jenas was my stand out great intelligence, time on the ball, calmness. I will slag Wigan off though. I thought this was supposed to be a passing team, they couldn't even get through 9 knackered outfielders. Their support is a joke, no one would miss this bunch in the prem. But the biggest crime is their manager - a man who wears a suit, collar and tie......and a pullover. An affront to aesthetics.
Thanks Dave! First decent post I read today- a miracle it may take but we still have it in our hands, win all 6 and it should be enough. We have got the players and the Manager to do it.
