But what's the point in pre-season, when you bring in a centre back to play LB a day before the season, and a keeper without the chance of him and his defence getting to know each other. I think looking at this game, the brief of only bringing in players to make us better has gone tits up! Players like Cork and Bowyer, are players that would have made us better, Nugent would have made us better, a proper LB, and another RB also! Lots to do by the looks of things. Welldone to the Leeds united fans, a credit to our club, and welldone Southampton on a deserved win.
Exactly. Those players (who cost money) would have made us better. Shame we couldn't afford them because of the financial egomania of our chairman.
it will be a long hard season having ---huff an--puff in charge----promotion no chance we ant got the players ---sorry
Happy with the keeper, as it was sensible buisness, but should have been concluded earlier. I hope O'dea was ok, but again should have been done sooner to find out if he's to play LB or CB, then if needed a LB or one we have on our books in that position. Too much responsibility on Browns shoulders, also Claytons for that matter. We also have only 2 reliable strikers, that are both injured. Our midfielders like Nunez and Gradel are better strikers than our strikers. We should have spent money, on wages or transfers fees. Because at this moment, we haven't been convinced we have brought anyone to make us better.
I keep seeing these kind of comments and I don't understand why? Why do you feel it is sensible business?? What do you believe has happened with the money??? It has gone into the same bank account as the Delph money went. if Grayson had been given money to spend or Ken Bates has said we can increase the wage structure slighly as we have money in the pot great, but he hasn't and he won't.
Well sensible buisness, had we the million or more to spend on players! O get the feeling we will be fobbed off that its been spent on O'Dea's wages!
Exactly, I have come to the conclusion it is better to allow the Beckfords and the Gradels to see their contract out and walk at the end of it. Sell them or allow them to walk on a free we are only going to get freebie signings or loans to replace them, while Bates is in charge gone are the days that we ever spend even a million on a player.
I think the keeper was good business. Lonergran is around the same level as Kasper, possibly more reliable and all round keeper. But the rest of Kaspers transfers should be reinvested in the team. It's either Grayson or Bates unwilling to spend. Take off the money we're wasting on redeveloping the East Stand of a stadium we don't even own, that's £8million. We could get promoted on half of that.
Im starting to think Bates has lost faith in Grayson and his ability to sign decent players? He's made a few costly mistakes, both permanent and loan signings. Bannan, Collins, even McCormack hasn't proved himself yet, Bruce is another one. I guess there is a few more too.
I agree with that,& I also think Grayson's lost faith in Bates. Its a partnership which worked well together for a while but has now run its course,a bit like Lennon & McCartney(John & Paul not Aaron & George!!) The following sequence of events need to occur to set us back on track: Bates stays Bates sacks Grayson Bates appoints Poyet Bates ****s off!
