I've taken a positive outlook on things:

. I'm looking forward to not being one of the worst teams in the league.

. Relegation should be what is needed to give the club a kick up the arse to sort themselves out.

. Poyet is our first manager I for a long time who has a clear tactical system. Not like MoN signing Fletcher for the lone striker role in a team set up to counter attack...

I am inclined to agree. That's my heart not my head tho.
Worst case scenario and we do go down at least all of the ****e players will eff off and be mercenary f*ckers at another club.

I always find the thought if we go down it will be for the best somewhat defeatist. I fail to see how.

Beating smaller clubs 4-0 every week in a 2nd division is just about as depressing a thought as I can possibly imagine and strikes me of why many outside the NE don't rate us as a big club at all. With these kinda of second class supporting instincts it's little wonder.

I've done my apprenticeship of second tier and sadly third tier football and want some cream now. If it's not top flight I won't be there. The thought that a club that can attract 40k plus settling for 2nd tier football as we 'win some games' is more depressing than the relegation itself.

It's because we don't demand the best shy we never get the best lads and we get the club we deserve.

I`m through depression and out the other side. Now more in a state of `acceptance`.

Now consoling myself that, at the end of the season, whether we stay up or go down, there`ll be a massive clearout.

There`d better be. There`ll be hell on if there isn`t. <grr>
